Dublin born self taught guitarist/composer Hugh Buckley has performed with a wide array of international artists, working as a sideman and also leading his own groups. Some of these artists include; James Williams, Peter Washington, Peter Bernstein, John Stowell, Jim Mullen, Tim Ries Rolling Stones Project (w/Bernard Fowler and Michael Davis), Georgie Fame, Guy Barker, Javon Jackson, Scott Hamilton, Jon Faddis, Brad Mehldau, Van Morrison, Ronnie Drew, Louis Stewart, Bobby Watson, Alan Barnes, Stacey Kent, Lisa Stansfield, Christine Tobin, Harry Allen, Bruce Adams, Mike Carr, Bobby Wellins, Dwayne Eubanks, Roy Williams, Spike Robinson, Brian Kelloch, Ruben Gonzales, Daniel Corzo, Joe Temperley, George Masso, John Wadham.
He has performed throughout Europe, the U.S and in Argentina.
He has three cds under his own name,"Yes Indeed" (1998), "Spirit Level" (2001) (both recorded in New York) and "Sketches of Now" (2007) which features all original compositions.
He was recently the subject of an hour long tv documentary, "The Living Bridge -A Family Affair" (along w/ his two saxophonist cousins) which featured all original music by all three musicians.
Hugh is producer, arranger and guitarist on the legendary Ronnie Drews 2008 platinum selling cd release The Last Session - A Fond Farewell.
