hmhart@pacbell.net | I blog for wired.com, write about movies for San Francisco Chronicle and just finished my ten-song CD How To Be a Millionaire, recorded on Garageband and mixed by Alex Kharlamov.
Before moving west, I rocked Chicago clubs and recording studios with squalling guitarist J.D. Dragus, soul man Nick Tremulis, marching band saxophonist / activist Mark Messing, ridiculously good drummers Ed Breckenfeld, Jeff Thomas, Greg Marsh and Jim Hines (now touring with Brian Wilson), guitar virtuoso Rob Williams, dance diva Suzanne Palmer, songwriters Gary Yerkins and Doug Hoekstra, blues belter Vanessa Davis and Tony-winning composer Alaric Jans.
In sun-baked Studio City I've got the trusty spinet piano to my right, a funky acoustic guitar propped up in a milk crate and a batch of harmonicas. The first couple tracks, above, are from the Garageband-produced new Millionaire album, How To Be a Millionaire encompassing hobos, bankruptcy, part-time idiots and gold mines.
Hi Hugh, thanks for the friend request. No baritone sax on 'everything', just a big mess of guitars, voices and electric piano.. and drums... good to hear from you!
