Hugo's Interests
General
Besides the obvious (vampires, zombies, werewolves), I like to keep up on the current trends in science and world politics. For hobbies, I collect swords and antique firearms and am an avid cook. For exercise, I like to hike in the Sandia Mountains near my home. Additionally, I hold black belts in three different martial arts and still work out daily in my home gym. Once a week or so, I enjoy "venting" my emotions at the local firing range.
As you might expect, I am an avid horror movie fan. Some of my favorites include: The Cabinet of Dr, Caligari; Nosferatu; Shaun of the Dead; Dawn of the Dead (Romero version); Night of the Lving Dead; 28 Days Later; the classic Universal monster movies; Cabin Fever; Evil Dead.
I also love film noir. My favorites include: The Big Sleep, After Dark, My Sweet; Kiss Me Deadly, Out of the Past; the Maltese Falcon; Detour; The Killing.
Some of my favorite directors are Howard Hawks, John Huston, Preston Sturges, John Ford, Alfred Hitchcock, Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, George Romero, Martin Scorcese, Francis Ford Coppola.
You can find some brief reviews of horror movies on my site.
Television
My favorite channels are Discovery, Discovery Health, the Food Network and the SciFi Channel. Some shows I enjoys are The Critical Hour, The First 48 (a reality show about homicide detectives on A & E), UFC on Spike TV, and Ghost Hunters. I also like watching football and am a longtime Dallas Cowboys fan.
Books
Too many to list, so I'll give you some of my favorite writers and subjects: Edgar Allen Poe, Herman Melville, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Ernest Hemingway, Raymond Carver, John Cheever, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Tolstoy, Conrad, James Fenimore Cooper, books about World War II, the Civil War, history in general, biographies, cookbooks.
Heroes
All the FVZA agents who paid the ultimate price and sacrificed their lives to protect our great nation from the undead.
About me: I am the former head of the Federal Vampire and Zombie Agency (a.k.a., FVZA) now living in retirement in New Mexico. I enjoy tending to my garden, reading, dining out and educating people about the undead.
You can find out more about me at www.fvza.org, the tribute site I set up for the FVZA.
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone interested in finding out the truths behind the myths.
Also, independent horror filmmakers. Feel free to plug your movies here.

Quick question that I couldn't find the answer to on the "Ask Dr. Pecos" page or in the "Vampire Myths" page on the FVZA site:
Where the hell did the myth(which is perpetrated in numerous films and TV Shows including both "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel"), that vampires cannot cross the threshold of someone's home without an expressed, verbal invitation from a resident of the home in question come from?
I'm asking this simply because in the "Improvised Weapons" page on your site you say a vampire can simply break into your home just as easy as any burglar.

Not workin'n nights per se, my old friend, but doin' 3 twelves plus over time, and a full load of classes as well now. I feel that I may soon be in the ranks of dead on my feet's type, but never in the ranks of the living dead. I'm now licenced to carry insurance for that. LOL. Hope your week has gone well, and that it get's better as the weekend approaches.
Greetings, doctor. I lament the observance of your federal agancy being no-longer in operation. As an immortal alien being of sublime evil and possessed with godlike power, my personal viewpoint has always been that vampires and zombies are rather gauche and tawdry. Unfortunate that it appears your world cannot rely on the steadfast dedication of your operatives to continue culling th
