| General | I'd love to say that I'm into curling up with a good book when I'm not busy handing out blankets and sandwiches at the local shelter... but unfortunately, that's a steaming load of crap... I like to read while I'm doing my laundry that never ever ever ever goes away... they need to come out with paper clothes... I enjoy writing and I also like to draw... mostly doodles, but i'm planning on becoming much more prolific in the near future:-)
| | Music | I like alot of different music... I'll try to list as many as I can think of right now... John Legend, Common, Norah Jones, Black Uhuru, the Pogues, REM, Leonard Cohen, Phoebe Snow, Janis Ian, the Dickies, the Ramones, DEVO, the Buzzcocks, Tom Waits is one of my all time favorites, the Beatles, Etta James, the Supremes, Prince, the Jackson Five, I really like old school rap like Eazy E and old Run DMC... Alicia Keys, Outkast, Bob Marley, I went through a metal phase in junior high that left a soft spot in me for Metallica and Ozzy along with some Megadeth and Iron Maiden... Nine Inch Nails... old country like Loretta Lynne and Kenny Rogers... and I'm a huge fan of 80's music... retro takes me back to my child hood... us old-school spinstas gotta represent. | | Movies | lets see... Watership Down, By the River's Edge, Bridget Jone's Diary, the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice, Gone with the Wind, When the Wind Blows, Prick Up your Ears, Willie Wonka, Super Troopers, Idiocracy... those are probably my all time favorite movies.... I have a mile long list of movies that have come out in the last ten years or so that I'm allegedly "going to watch"... | | Television | ahhhhh... television... I'd have to say my favourite shows are Reno 911, South Park, the Golden Girls, merlin, weeds, dexter, californication, almost any crappy "my husband is a drunk mafioso with a gambling disorder" LifeTime original movie, First 48, VH1 reality shows (Flavor of Love, Tila Tequila, Real Chance at Love, that crap), and I used to like that show Cheaters that was on late at night where they stalk suspected cheaters and then show their loved ones the video and then confront them with their outside girlfriend/boyfriend at some public place when everyone's clearly been drinking and act like they're doing everyone a favor and they're on the side of the maligned lover by saying things like "you don't need him, look at what he's done to you... here look at the video of him having sex with her while he was supposed to be at your son's birth day party". yes, I too have become a fan of train wreck tv. and while nothing has really grabbed my attention since "buffy"...(yes, it's true... I am/was a huge buffy the vampire slayer fan) I've been watching "heroes" avidly lately. despite the fact that every question answered on the show leads to ten more questions, I have yet to get frustrated and stop watching. | | Books | anything by Kurt Vonnegut, Gore Vidal, John Irving, Amy Tan, the Oxford Condenced Bible Stories, I really like old sappy make you cry your eyes out in the tub alone when you read the end of them books too, like Les Miserables, anything by Thomas Hardy, I also have a friend who has lived with me periodically over the years who is a crappy science fiction nut, so in my boredom around the house I developed a habit of reading whatever he was reading, and as a result have read ALOT of crappy science fiction. | | Heroes | props to Jesus, my brother sam, Kurt Vonnegut, John Irving, but most of all to King David, my favorite bible story, and Joseph, Jesus' step father (I know he was coerced by an angel, but still...)

About me:
..hi everybody... I'm a pretty typical spinsta... ravaged by time and experience until my once child-like naivite and natural beauty became buried neath a bitter shell.

Who I'd like to meet:
preferably people who are intelligent and open minded... with a decent sense of humor and a flair for being a little bit cynical but not entirely pessimistic... people who can stand on their own and aren't co-dependent... I don't need a bunch of needy freaks telling me about their latest tragedy when god knows I'd rather be talking about mine... honesty is very important to me also... I prefer to know exactly where I stand, good or bad... unless your honesty compels you to tell me that I'm super fat or ugly in which case I'd prefer that you keep your pie trap shut... I also have issues with people correcting my grammatical errors and writing style... I'm well aware that I have a problem with run-on sentences and my syntax is all wrong sometimes... and I like to use the little three dot thing after a sentence because a lot of times I'm not sure if it should be a comma or a period with a whole new sentence after it... so if you're an english teacher with a knowlege is power complex, you probably don't want to contact me... everyone else feel free, I promise to diligently and excitedly check this site for potential friends until I lose interest. Also I'm NOT interested in dating at all in any form whatsoever; however I am not opposed to adoration from afar.
