The New York League of Humane Voters (NYLHV) mobilizes public concern for animals through the democratic political process. Recognizing that animal protection is a political issue as well as a moral issue, we campaign for the election of humane candidates to public office. Founded in 2001, NYLHV has become the political arm of the local animal protection movement by building support amongst citizens, activists, political parties, candidates and elected representatives all over the city.
