   Humanists of Houston's Blurbs
About me:
Our group has operated in Houston for thirty years. HOH exists to provide the opportunity for like-minded Humanists, atheists, agnostics, skeptics, and freethinkers to fellowship, socialize, and enjoy thought provoking activities on the interesting issues of our day.

As a Humanist group, we do not merely hold a naturalistic worldview based on reason, but are also concerned with living ethical, meaningful lives with concern for our fellow human being. As such, HOH also participates in a variety of activities designed to advance Humanist causes and values in the Houston area.

Please join the MySpace Group "Humanists of Houston" and feel free to learn more about us and our events & activities by checking out our website at humanistsofhouston.org! We'd love to meet new local folks at one of our many get-togethers. :)
Who I'd like to meet:
HOH is looking for bright, active, freethinking people who base their beliefs on rationality and concern for humanity.

I'm not sure who posted "they got owned," but we did have a very successful debate. Visit:

addendum--Let's go see "Lucy" at Houston Museum of Natural Science (HMNS)

(not MFAH--as I might've said--MFAH is my *other* favorite museum in town)

I'd kind of like to see an HOH Meetup (or Houston Atheists meetup) to go see the "Lucy" exhibit @ MFAH, as a group; I think it'd be more fun that way.

Good morning from MDA Houston!

The warrants have been drafted and the MDA has sent out an APB. Some of the Houston and Galleria-area business elite will be “stars behind bars” at the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Telethon Executive Lock-Up (TELU). The benefactors will participate in TELU at the maximum appreciation jail site 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at Morton’s, The Steakhouse at 5000 Westheimer in the Galleria area.

Will the Humanists of Houston be able to join the MDA, the Houston Texans Cheerleaders and the KING himself as we put these stars behind bars for having huge hearts? If you have any questions or need any information, please contact Andrew Ortiz, Regional Public Affairs Coordinator at AOrtiz@mdausa.org, so that we can make the proper arrangements. The MDA understands your busy schedule, but any amount of time you could donate would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and hope to see you at Lock-Up!

Thanks for adding me. It's very reassuring to know there are pockets of sanity in this city!

Believing there is no God gives me more room for belief in family, people, love, truth, beauty, sex, Jell-o, and all the other things I can prove and that make this life the best life I will ever have.
