Human Shield is an Italian thrash metal band influenced by historical bands from the 80's and the 90's .
The band, initially named “Nemesi”, was formed in 2001 in Pompiano (near Brescia, Italy) by Claudio De Maria (drums) and Matteo Olivini (guitar). Once it had a complete lineup, the band started playing gigs in local venues and music events.
The first demo, consisting of 5 original tracks, was released in 2003 and received good press both on Metal Shock Italian magazine (July 2004 issue) and on several metal webzines.
After some lineup changes, in 2006 the band recorded a new song, Cry of rising, which was subsequently released on two different metal compilations: First Act, issued by Noise Studio in Gussago (BS - Italy) and Underground, produced in Lituania and distributed worldwide.
In August 2007, following the formation of the present lineup, which includes along the founders Davide Badinelli (bass), Herbert Brunelli (guitar) and Daniele Gatti (vocals), the band choose the new moniker Human Shield.
The band's creative efforts culminated in an EP named Human Shield, recorded in March, 2008 and currently being distributed. The CD includes 4 tracks, which style combines typical 80's Bay Area Thrash elements with modern and personal ideas.
The result is an original, catchy sound, which makes the songs especially effective even in live shows.

Gli Human Shield sono una band thrash metal influenzata dai gruppi storici degli anni ‘80 e ‘90.
Il gruppo, inizialmente chiamato Nemesi, è nato nel 2001 a Pompiano (BS) per iniziativa di Claudio De Maria (batteria) e Matteo Olivini (chitarra). Completata la formazione, la band ha iniziato a esibirsi in diversi locali e manifestazioni musicali della zona.
Nel 2003 è stato inciso il primo demo, composto da 5 tracce inedite, che ha avuto buone recensioni sia sulla rivista Metal Shock (luglio 2004) sia su diverse webzine specializzate.
Dopo alcuni cambi di formazione, nel 2006 il gruppo ha registrato un nuovo pezzo, Cry of rising, successivamente inserito in due diverse compilation metal: First Act, promossa dal Noise Studio di Gussago (BS) e Underground, prodotta in Lituania e distribuita in tutto il mondo.
Nell’agosto 2007, in seguito alla stabilizzazione della formazione attuale , che include (oltre ai due fondatori) Davide Badinelli (basso), Herbert Brunelli (chitarra) e Daniele Gatti (voce), la band ha adottato il nome Human Shield.
Gli sforzi creativi del gruppo sono culminati nella realizzazione di un EP intitolato Human Shield, registrato nel Marzo 2008 e attualmente in distribuzione. Il CD è composto da 4 tracce, il cui stile mescola elementi tipici del thrash “Bay Area” anni ’80 con forme più moderne e personali.
Il risultato è un sound originale e d’impatto, che rende i brani particolarmente efficaci anche nelle esibizioni dal vivo.
