-The One and Only....BEVO !... (as the star vocalist due to his certain star quality) and... Karl Meyer from the bands Sluggo and SS-20, (on the bass) Bill, William G. Weber,(on guitar) of Manwich who went on to international accolades as the guitarist for the poo eating GG Allin, The Chrome Cranks and The Tigerlillies. and that leaves dan, (he assaulted his way to freedom, eventualism at its best) ...-Originally... & then Mike Gregory currently of The Thirteens and Steve Schmoll pre-Lazy, did some bass. -This original line-ups put out two volumes of work including an actual record... and several videos...._______HUMAN ZOO... also performed under a different name... When HUMAN ZOO was BARRED OUT FOREVER of the Short Vine St. Turdhole named Sudsy Malones by the owner John Cioffe, for being too much, and just Not what the owner had in mind... HUMAN ZOO re-appeared @ Sudsy's a year later under the name ( dig this...) - INTERCOURSE -, And - INTERCOURSE- went on and the owner saw it was HUMAN ZOO, got pissed but couldn't kick us off because the audience was into INTERCOURSE, and put on a great show.... but the original members of HUMAN ZOO seemed to be all heading to lower or higher forms of greatness and Like the candle that burns Twice as Bright, it burns half as long... So, in the Natural Progression of life.... _____ - and then it all did something completly different..._____ ____ _ _ _

-- That would be, A freaky and way different ( but basically the same) psychadelic grouping of the band with The Pedro Dux esq. of Fastbats, SS-20 and Tempest playing and whipping up a bunch of new weird tunes with us, and he brought in on Bass, Steve Killian from Newport, Ky. and then Chris Lewis of 11,000 Switches, Manwich etc. and then Peirre Andre of Tempest, now of a band called the NovaRays in florida , I think. . This second coming of HUMAN ZOO recorded but never released a great volume of experimental work during the run of live shows.___ _____
--... it all started by accident in a way, when dan met BEVO down by the water on a sunny shining afternoon in the way back when.... BEVO spoke some poetic words of disposable gospel genius wisdom to dan and thus the idea and original concepts were brought to life.

Space Angel, Stay Outta Hell.....Human Zoo's S/T Mini LP
A few post's back I wrote (round)about the Hospital compilation 'Auto Glamour Sound' & also made mention of a couple other Dementia Precox titles & the Human Zoo mini lp. Some curious folk's wrote & asked me what they was all about so I poked around to see what I would see. I've since come to find out that Dementia Precox have a site up where you can purchase sealed, original copies of their 'Of Parts Unknown' lp. If your into dark, Germanik tinged electro/art/wave from neglected corners of the early 80's midwest, then this record could be your new best friend, at least for the summer. As for the Human Zoo record, that's a little more elusive. While it sports a Hospital matrix .. (HDO 13) no tracks appear on the aforementioned cd comp. Can't say that I know why, 'cept maybe Human Zoo didn't fit the criteria, eschewing southern state Ubu-esque specifications. And they arrived a little late in the game too, this here lp bein released in 1986 & all. I spent some time in Cincy in the early to mid 80's (as a test subject for Kahn's Weiners) & can honestly say it was one of the dullest places I have ever known! The Hospital scene-which was truly underground-& WAIF Radio-which was all volunteer-were the only forms of civilized life you could count on. Oh sure, there might be somethin happenin at Bogarts, or maybe at (the better) Jockey Club, but for the most part, it was as stagnant as a mill pond in mid July. I was leavin as Human Zoo was breakin out but I heard tales of their greatness & was lucky that someone though highly enough of me to see that I got a copy of this lp. It's a doozy! You've all heard the story about Iggy smearin peanut butter on folks at a rock fest in Cincy back in the day, right? Well imagine if one of them globs had come to life. It would taken the form of singer Bevo Ruzka. Bevo's herculean monotone & Wiedemann fueled rasp-not to mention lascivious lyric content- is the main proponent in lauchin this lp into some anomolaous, dead-on DUNT zone that oughtn't exist between pre 'Raw Power' Stooges & post 'Always Was, Is And Always Shall Be' GG Allin & The Jabbers/Scumfucs. It's a wild & well lubed ride I shouldn't be takin right now! And I'd have all but forgotten about this if it hadn't been for that comp that they ain't on. But it seems like I connect dots like that all the time nowadays.

The freakshow known as Human Zoo destroyed at Southgate House Saturday Night. What a great night! Thanks to the Zoo for stepping up, it was a treat for all of us. “GAME OVER” for Cup & Saucer Café Current mood: melancholy Category: Life
We regret to announce the closing of Cup & Saucer Café after three and a half years in business. Call 513-544-7017 for information on buying the business. It was a good run for a mom & pop business, longer than many expected, especially considering that Marcy had a stroke just one month after we started. We had a lot of nice employees, customers, and entertainers but there were too many factors working against us. Maybe we’ll write a book about it when things calm down, but basically we had too many expenses, not enough income, and way too much stress. Health problems are the primary cause of failure of small business, and we had to bail out before it killed one or both of us. So everybody take care while we do the same. Some day we’ll get back to making Marcy Burgers, presenting great performers and taking photos of them. In the meantime keep in touch. We’d love for you to share your memories of Cup & Saucer and we’d also love to hear about your progress, especially if you got your start on our stage.
