For over 25 years Humble I has been singing and making people happy with his songs and also making them face reality. His songs have encouraged the listeners to resist oppression in all its guises.
Now hear for yourself and feel what good vibes is all about… As Humble I likes to say « My music is medecine for people who need it. And I’m a musician doctor …» He smiles saying that !
Born in Jamaica then left to live in England with his parents at a young age.
Humble at the age of 10 was the head choir boy in the local church. I was noticed that he had that kind of voice that everyone loves to sing with.
After leaving school he was already on his way into accountancy and bokeeping when his friends played him an album of Burning Spear. From then Humble knew he will not be an accountancy anymore… So he set up his own Flying High Records company and started recording his songs. It was while collecting from the pressing plant two 45 singles. That he met Twinkle Brothers who told him he should do an album as they thought Humble had a very good international potential.
Humble followed Twinkle advice. Here is « Happiness ».
« Happiness » is a collection of some of his songs put together to create a constant uplifting vibes right throught on Flying High Records.
Working in England with Mad Proffessor, Mickey Zim, Black Steel and Jerry Lyons, Humble has been working with the best. Now he is in France and started working with Manutension on « Let Jah Music Play », Improvisator Dub’s album « W.I.C.K.E.D », Uzinadub’s last album to be released, Dub Machinist, Weeding Dub and Webcam hi-fi’s vynil « Can’t keep I down », with more to be released.
Humble has his band in France called « humble I and the translators ». And he is still singing with Webcam hi-fi, Improvisators Dub and other bands like Y.A.M or Kaya Natural Sound System, and doing special guest appearances in Swissland with OBF Sound System.
He is as well a song writer for other as for himself. There are many of his songs people love to sing that are still not recorded.
Humble is also into making films. He is currently working on a DVD album with Webcam hi-fi and Itist. Manutension has proposed an album with Winston Mac Anuff for the future.
