Hundred Story High were formed in August 2003 when Keith Crooks (drums), Emma Longworth (vocals and acoustic guitar) and Chris Owen (bass) met up for a jam. Not satisfied that their sound was out of this world enough they began the search for a lead guitar player and fortunately found Dan Rogers (electric guitar) to add noodly guitar to their sound. Hundred Story High were then formed and ready to take over the universe… well the North West of England at least! After a year with the band Chris left to further his education at Leeds Uni, leaving the band in need of a bass player, and who better to fill his shoes than Andy Crawford (ex Chione).
Hundred Story High gigged relentlessly in 2003/4 playing almost every venue in Liverpool, St Helens and Warrington. They have also managed a festival in Manchester playing alongside the likes of Mani, Chicane and Haven and they played the Liverpool Barfly supporting Sondre Lerche from Norway. In 2005 the band have returned to Manchester, gigged abroad (well Wales!!) and played a festival in Coniston. In amongst all of the gigs Hundred Story High also found a little time to record their demo EP, the Shoes EP in Liverpools LIPA. More recording is planned as are plenty more gigs around the North West and possibly beyond.
