Me, myself and I I play guitar, mandolin and sing. In my spare time I fool around with autoharp, 5-string banjo, 6-string banjo, tenor guitar, fiddle, piano and mountain dulcimer, and run the risk of never becoming very good on any of them. But I'll have great fun while I'm learning.
I have also been a proud member of the danish old time band Big Hungry Joe.
Take a look at the band's MySpace profile by clicking on the first icon in the Friend Space here below or just click here.
If you want to hear more of my own recordings, you can hear about 30 of them here on: EazyFolk including the ones you can hear on this site. And 4 tracks I made 25 years ago on a 4 track Fostex tape recorder.
Below you can see some of my drawings and a couple of photos.
More pictures will be added as time comes.
When you get to my age, there are too many to mention, but I'll give it a try anyway:
Musicians: Doc Watson, Norman Blake, Tony Rice, David Grisman, Ry Cooder, Foghorn Stringband, Boiled Buzzards, The Improbabillies, Dr. John, James Taylor, Taj Mahal, Tom Waits, Beatles, B.B. King, Bob Dylan, Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, J.J. Cale, Ben Webster, Chet Baker, Charlie Parker, Pete and Mike Seeger, Ray Charles, Georgie Fame, Django Reinhardt, J.S. Bach, Händel, Vivaldi, Erik Satie, Mozart, Joe Pass, Louis Jordan, Robert Johnson, Woody Guthrie, Thelonious Monk, Chet Atkins, Stuff Smith, Slim Gaillard, Sonnyboy Williamson etc. etc .
Writers: Henry Miller, Jack Kerouac, Charles Bukowski, William S. Burroughs, Céline, Dan Turell, Raymond Carver, John Fante, H.C. Andersen, Gustav Wied, John Steinbeck, Dashiell Hammet, Raymond Chandler, Graham Green etc. etc.
Comic artists: Robert Crumb, Carl Barks, Hergé, Charles M. Schulz, E.C. Segar, Billy deBeck, Storm P. and my brother Claus Deleuran, who died much too young.
Moviemakers: Werner Herzog, John Cassavetes, Charles Chaplin, W.C. Fields, Jaques Tati, Federico Fellini, Jim Jarmusch, Luis Bunuel, John Ford, Wim Wenders, Sergio Leone, Martin Scorsese, Stanley Kubrick, Woody Allen, Marx Brothers, Terry Gilliam, Coen brothers, early Disney, Hayao Miyazaki, Akira Kurosawa, Marx Brothers etc. etc.
Painters: My father Otto Deleuran, and his good friend Aksel Jensen. May they rest in peace. René Magritte is also one. And Sowa. And there are many more. Too numerous to mention.
And on and on and on it goes. More to come someday. Perhaps.

I have made my living as a cartoonist/illustrator for more than 30 years, and I intend to show some of my artwork here. I have just joined the space 3. december, and things take time. But you can allready see some of my drawings on the site, and in my pics folders. You can see my website<> or by clicking here: www.jesperdeleuran.dk. The text is in danish, but I guess the drawings can be seen and understood everywhere. If you are a member of MySpace you can see some of my drawings in my pics folders. More will come as I get the time. You can also see some 100 drawings on the german website toonpool. It is a kind of MySpace for cartoonists. The text is in english there. Check this adress: www.toonpool.com..
The music I will upload here, is home recordings made on a four track digital recorder, where I play a couple of instruments and sing harmony with myself. So called sandwichrecordings. Nothing fancy.
I have recently bought a guitjo, a 6-string banjo and have just uploaded a recording, Stone's Rag to the player above.
Also the first recording where I play the banjo, Tom Dooley, in a different version, than that of the Kingston Trio, which I can't stand to listen to today. This version I have heard with Doc Watson and David Holt. No comparison though :-)
If you click on the EazyFolk link here below, you can hear many more tunes. Among others three bluegrass tunes I recorded 25 years ago on a 4-track cassette recorder, and have recently rediscovered them, and digitized them. Hope you can stand to listen to them. I sing harmonies and play guitars, banjo and mandolin.
And you can hear Arkansas Traveller with the original lyrics from the first version in 1850. This is my first attempt to record anything with the fiddle, and I wouldn't have dared to do it, if I couldn't hide a bit behind the guitar and mandolin. I guess It could have been better, if I had done retakes 20 times or more, but I settled on first take on all four tracks. After all it is old-time music.
Another one is Don’t Try It For It Can’t Be Done. I have it from an old 78' record from the 20's, with the late, great Riley Puckett. And more than 20 other tunes. Among them is Old Joe Clark on which I play mountain dulcimer and guitar, and Whiskey Before Christmas played on mandolin, autoharp and guitar Another fun song is It' Ain't Gonna Rain No More. This is from another old record with Gid Tanner & His Skillet Lickers. The lyrics is different in this version though. I have found them on a website with tons of lyrics for old traditional songs. This too has Riley Puckett on guitar and vox. I have also put up some instrumentals played on guitjo and guitar.
I recently have about 30 tunes on eZfolk. Some of them are the same as the tunes you find here. Some are not.

After you've finished here, you may like to hear this folk-carol on myspace... Poem 230 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (see my blog for details): CHRISTMAS SUNG SIMPLY
As gospellers have said, Beneath signalling skies, On land dusty to tread, A trough in a stable Was the strawy first-bed Of a divine baby - The forgiving Godhead.
A season for new hope - There then and here now; The yuletide of goodwill - There then and here now.
In respect of this chance, Beneath bright or dark skies, Faith's the star that we glance Attending Christ's churches And trying to enhance, With singing and ritual, Our God-loving stance.
After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...
Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
Hey there! We met on Flatpicker Hangout. I don't go there anymore due to lack of activity. Perhaps we can keep in touch here. I like your artwork as well as the tunes.
"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
