About me:

Eight years after meeting at Central Saint Martins and based on the friendship we have had since, Holly and Jenny have been collaborating for two years, approaching performance from a Fine Art background. We have created several performances together including ‘Love is Like the Airport/The Airport is Like Love’ and ‘Desperately Seeking Anything’ and are now starting to build up a kind of jukebox methodology, picking and choosing elements of the ideas explored in our practice and piecing them together in a range of combinations. ‘Everybody Moving On’ is the culmination of all the efforts made in a series of smaller performances and current ideas. This approach means the performance is rarely the same keeping the work fresh and exciting. Holly Darton & Jenny Hunt studied Fine Art together and have been collaborating for the past 2 years. They have performed at various Live Art festivals and events such as Arnolfini’s ‘I’m Still Your Worst Nightmare’, Colchester Arts Centre Live Art Platform and Tasty Festival. Holly performed at Edinburgh Fringe, as Ben & Holly and more recently has creatively produced a three day Live Art Festival in Hertford. She has also been awarded Escalator Artist for the forthcoming year. Jenny recently participated in Rules & Regs at Colchester Arts Centre and has previously performed at, PLAY Interdisciplinary Art Festival, OMSK, Expo, Sensitive Skin, Tate Modern and 291 Gallery.

Who I'd like to meet:

Us!-Two women. One bloody good idea. Embracing all that is embarrassing and revealing the indispositions only shared between two friends, who quite literally believe they can take on the world with, what can only be described as peculiar dance moves. Daily frustrations are described, sung and laughed at. With homemade philosophies such as, ‘Don’t leave your dog in doors for to long, it will shit’ the work swings from the most common of territories into the absurd. The overriding perspective of their performance is of life being considered as one big misunderstanding but is fuelled by a ridiculous amount of enthusiasm for it. They don’t try to make everything ‘OK’, it’s about what it means to be human.

Hey Jenny and Holly - loved the show, it's hard not to make references to it now...or to cringe when I find myself doing something you've hilariously observed.
Good luck with the rest of the run - see you soon xx

    Dear Holly and Jenny,

Thanks for the add. Glad you are doing the Escalator programme. We were in Edinburgh through East to Edinburgh this year and had a great time! If you are in London at all then be sure to check out the show at Soho Theatre from 17th - 22nd November.

    Keep dancing!
