I've had a lot of personal influences in music starting with my Father (Bill Hunter) and my Aunty Joan and all the Hunter family who surrounded me with homemade music as a child. My biggest influence lately has been my partner - Jake Annetts who has inspired me to open myself up musically and encouraged me to find myself.
In the music world I have been heavily influenced by John Denver who was a master of melodic folk songs and a passionate humanitarian and environmentalist. I'm besotted with Josh Pyke who's genius lyric writing makes me want to strive harder to better myself. And I love the ethereal sounds of female folk singers like Loreena McKennit or Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez.
Ulitimately though I love all music in all genres and like to take a little piece of something from everyone I love. I'm inspired by anything that touches me and leaves me feeling breathless.
Sounds Like
lots of folk influences - Joni Mitchell, Loreena McKennit etc
One by One
I began my music life playing the piano by ear at the tender age of 4yrs. I was quickly whisked off to lessons but circumstances prevented me from really reaching my full potential. At 16 I picked up my Dad's guitar and messed about with some basic chords but again, never really did much with it.
Singing was always a passion of mine. I sing everything, everywhere and sang in a local choir at one point.
After many years of stifled creativity I met my partner Jake Annetts who convinced me to pick up the guitar and sing again. This led to a rush of inspiration and I penned my first ever song. Within a few days 3 more had come along and I was able to release all that pent up emotion and musical passion.
In my personal life I am a passionate supporter of many causes and devote myself to each one as a need arises. If could encourage people to do one thing it would be to choose a cause and fight for it. Be it fighting world hunger, protecting animals from harm or saving our precious environment, together, little by little, we will make a difference!

Speaking of which, we'd love to keep chickens but the garden's a bit too small. Hopefully one day we'll move out further into the countryside and get serious about growing our own food etc.
