"Hunting The Minotaur is a strange offering. It’s a little bit electronic, a medium bit prog and a big bit atmospheric. All of this is lavishly swathed over a very indie sound. Think Muse meeting Kings Of Leon and you’re getting the gist. On stage it’s all delivered with a faux snot-nosed indifference and, somewhat randomly, a keytar!"
- 'PUNKTASTIC'
"Ulitmately we like this one 'cause it packs onion's"
- 'ZANE LOWE - RADIO 1'
"Worthing quartet Hunting the Minotaur certainly like to retain an air of mystery around themselves. Trying to track any hard information on the band is like trying to break into the kremlin - bloody hard work...
...They'll definately appeal to fans of Muse and Biffy Clyro so we're expecting big things from this lot in '09"
"We tipped this lot as Ones To Watch in 09 back in issue 117 and we know we’re onto a winner. Having recently witnessed them live at London’s Barfly on a miserable winter night, the south coast quartet didn’t fail to impress – bringing a warm glow to our cold journalistic hearts...
...Big things are definitely going to happen for Hunting The Minotaur in 2009, trust us. Get onboard now."
- 'DARREN TAYLOR - ROCKSOUND MAGAZINE'
"Look; any band with Minotaur in their name is worth checking out. And when the band churn out gnarly snarly punk like this everyone wins"
- 'KERRANG'
"Hunting the Minotaur would have My Chemical Romance in a fight. Easily. And possibly blindfolded."
- 'CHRIS MARTIN - NME RADIO'
"Up'n'comers Hunting The Minotaur are all destruction and distortion, with two riff happy guitars battling each other over furious drumming and bigger than life bass sounds. Its full frontal rawk"
Formed back in late 2008, Hunting The Minotaur are a Hard Rock Quartet from Worthing, Sussex. In Feb 09 they released their debut single 'Wasteland' as a limited edition numbered 7" vinyl exclusively through rough trade shops. Produced by the legendary Chris Sheldon (famed for his incredible work on the Foo
Fighter's 'monkey wrench' and Biffy Clyro) it is described by the band as: 'a three minute bastard brawl - powered by vitriol, anger and ancient wisdom'. guitarist / vocalist Mccanna commented: 'it's like poking a bear in a cage and realizing too late.. there is no cage...' already playlisted at XFM and enjoying huge support from John Kennedy who made it his record of the week as well as Zane Lowe and Steve Lamacq at radio 1. The single is also featured on the debut 'Need for Speed' by EA games!!
Having just played this years Download Festival and had the main support for 'Little Boots' at the Great Escape the band have had a positive start. The band are currently writing in the studio and will return in early Autumn.
