For the last two years, Oakland’s Hurry Up Shotgun have been playing their mystic psycho pop for audiences across the bay area. In January of 2009, these former members of The Vice, Coma Girl, and Green Light The Bombers went into the studio with Tim Green of San Francisco’s “Louder Studios” and recorded their debut album Hold The Angle. This introductory testimony includes eight songs about everything from Arctic explorations gone awry, to living on the grid, and all of the attendant paranoia and rage that comes with living in this modern world – each of which flirting with grit, noise and pop.
With a recording under their belts, Hurry Up Shotgun now sets off to expand their performance boundaries both musically and geographically. Already working on a host of new songs beyond the debut CD, the trio seeks shows within the SF/Oakland Bay Area, as well as touring up and down the West Coast.
What a great night! I didn't think you guys could get any louder and then you go and add 1000 db of rock named Will. Great addition, the record sounds amazing. WE LOVE YOU!
Arabic Larry ... a political song I see. nice. But Ship up To Sail .... wow ...? where the hell did that come from? Cool. We should make a swap - Harris Walker just released our newest CD last week.
