   Hurt, Pain and Difficulties's Blurbs
About me:

The Twelve Steps of Hurt, Pain and Difficulties Anonymous

1. We admitted we were powerless over others - that our lives had become unmanageable with Hurt, Pain and Difficulties.

2. Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

3. Made a decision to turn our will and lives over to the care of God as we understood God.

4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being, the exact nature of our wrongs.

6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

7. Humbly asked God to remove our shortcomings.

8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.

9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.

11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood God, praying only for knowledge of God's will for us and the power to carry that out.

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to others in recovery, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

The Twelve Traditions of Hurt, Pain and Difficulties Anonymous

1. Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends upon HPDA unity.

2. For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority -- a loving higher power as expressed to our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern.

3. The only requirement for membership in HPDA is a desire for healthy and loving relationships.

4. Each group should remain autonomous except in matters affecting other groups or HPDA as a whole.

5. Each group has but one primary purpose -- to carry its message to other HPDA who still suffer.

6. A HPDA group ought never endorse, finance, or lend the HPDA name to any related facility or outside enterprise, lest problems of money, property and prestige divert us from our primary spiritual aim.

7. A HPDA group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions.

8. HPDA should remain forever non—professional, but our service centers may employ special workers.

9. HPDA, as such, ought never be organized; but we may create service boards or committees directly responsible to those they serve.

10. HPDA has no opinion on outside issues; hence the HPDA name ought never be drawn into public controversy.

11. Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio, and films.

12. Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our traditions; ever reminding us to place principles before personalities.

when you feel like giving up, just remember how far you have made it in life and everything you have survived; that alone takes a lot of courage and strength!

The other day when I was walking, I saw a beautiful butterfly flittering in the sky.  I was struck by how beautiful yet graceful and fragile it appeared to be.  Then the thought occurred to me that although we may see a butterfly as having fragile wings and being this delicate creature, the butterfly is also very very strong.  For the butterfly had to have strength when it was a caterpillar to break through that cocoon and learn how to fly.  Survivors are the same way.  Yes, our hearts are fragile and delicate in some areas from the pain we went through.  Yet at the same time, we have so much strength to us for breaking away from the life we once had and for shattering our silence as we create this new life for ourselves.  We've moved on from that part of our lives and now we begin to embark on a new journey as we live a life free from abuse.

it doesn't matter what others think of your life; what matters is that you are the leading person in your own life and the biggest fan of your own life.

Many of you, my dear friends, have asked me how JJ is doing. I figured it would be easier just to let you all know this way. I'm caring for him like a sick child nearly 24 hours a day. I don't get much sleep (I'm not complaining) these days so I often forget to get back to you as I have limited computer time as well. It's not that I don't read your messages or think about what wonderful friends God has blessed me with. I truly enjoy hearing from you and love getting messages, comments and emails. I do want you to know that if I don't reply right away I will as soon as I get a chance. I love each of you dearly and thank you so much for everything.

We need many, many prayers for JJ. Prayers were answered for Winston (and continue to be) and without you I don't know if he'd be here with us today.

I have put up a web page on Winston's site for JJ. This will make it easier if you would like to check in on JJ. I will continue to update this page. I invite you to visit it as well as our regular updates page. Here is the link:

Thank you so much for caring. Your friendship means the world to me.

Many Hugs and Blessings,
Sharon, Nathan & the Bulldogs (Winston, Gracie & JJ)

(Sorry this isn't personalized to every individual,
I'm sending this out to EVERYONE on the site)
While I'm in the process of doing some 'friend cleaning' see blog, I thought
it might be a good time to ask those of you who *want* to be here to
subscribe to my blog if you haven't already. Not at all necessary to
not being deleted, Just thought I might as well get it all done at
once, since the process is  going to take some time. It may also be a
good time for those who don't really support the PTSD cause and/or don't want to see pictures or
comments like this to just go ahead and delete, cuz I can't run this site afraid of
who I can send what comments to. I mean if you want to delete the
comment, but keep me/the site/the cause, that's fine. I just want it to be
abundantly clear, if it isn't already, this is and will remain an MJ
judgment/hate free site. You don't have to like him....just keep the
hate elsewhere. Thanks, I appreciate your understanding and patience
during this transitional time.

never be afraid of who you are for everything about you is beautiful and makes you special and unique, setting you apart from the rest of the world; don't compare yourself to others because we are all different and the one thing they can't be is you! So let your colors shine through so the world can see all of your beauty that lies within your heart :)

You give me hope, and I am grateful to say you are my friend! Remember to spread the love as you go throughout your day today. You will find that doing so helps you more than it helps others!

FIVE FINGER PRAYER

Your thumb is nearest you, so begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember.
To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."
2. The next finger is the pointing finger.
Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal.
This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers.
They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction.
Keep them in your prayers.
3. The next finger is the tallest finger.
It reminds us of our leaders.
Pray for the President, leaders in business and industry, and administrators.
These people shape our nation and guide public opinion.
They need God's guidance.
Remember to pray for your boss or supervisor also.
4. The fourth finger is our ring finger.
It is surprising to many that this is our weakest finger, but any piano teacher will testify that it is a fact.
It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain.
They need your prayers day and night.
You cannot pray too much for them.
5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all, which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others.
As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you."
Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself.
By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

♥PEOPLE of CHARACTER do the right thing, not because they think it will change the world but because they refuse to be changed by the world. Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced It's not what they call you… it’s  What you answer to. Sooner or later you have to make a choice... leave behind your passion, your dream- or have the strength to look past all discouraging faces and look at yourself and know that you have what it takes... And you will prove them wrong. I would rather have the wings of a butterfly than the heart of a lion. Why? The butterfly is thrown around by the smallest breeze, yet it keeps going. The butterfly may have many fears; being swept away by the wind may be one yet it still flies, taking to sky like a fearless bird. Whereas the lion will go about its business proudly, ignoring all but itself and its prey. While the lion's heart is full of courage, true courage is only shown in a moment of fear and the lion has next to nothing to fear. ♥

You Have A Friend
No one in this whole wide world
Is without a friend you know.
A friend who watches over you
Wherever you may go.
You think you are all alone,
You cry and wonder why.
Just stop! You have a friend
Who watches from on high.
He knows each care and burden,
Each little pain and woe.
He knows everything about you,
He is your friend, you know.
So take Him as your Saviour
Let him into your heart
He'll walk beside you, ever guide you,
And never from you depart.
