being a creature of rituals. widows and wives. sea captains. la luna in her nightgown. the apple orchard where my first horse is buried. ghosts in my body. ghosts in my bed. the wife of the captain with braids in her hair. honey milk and peppermint baths every night. paper lanterns. all of my dead friends. tenderness. lemon oil. the creak in my achey bones. floorboards. photos of my mom digging for clams on her honeymoon. my side of the bed. your side of the bed. drinking pastis in the summertime while laying in the garden with my friend. laying sideways in my bed and watching the locket with a photo of you hanging off the branch of my plant as it sways back and forth from the fan that i sleep to now, for hours. windows draped in lace and filled with figurines and beads. tiny birds. The Ashley Book of Knots - and the Middleman's knot, Fisherman's knot and Shamrock knot. lavendar sugar baths. milk rose baths. cheese thats better than diamonds. naked mondays. bows and bells. organizing my trinkets. the idea of me, with a wheelbarrow full of babies to push around in the yard while i garden.
saw a cute girl at darte coffee today. she reminded me of you. also, i had a dream that included a beautiful reef and swimming in the ocean, then you helped me find my favorite gwen stefani purse. somewhere in there was a rollercoaster ride with scott.
i wish girl. you know how i love a good photo spread of me and mine. truth is, those pics were water damaged and he laid them out to dry. mostly of our time together senior year. sigh...memories......
