"Gloomy and beautiful, to absorb person's sadness, many gentleness"
Hush Collector, a recent review...
"Two females, the delightful blurred sound, has fills the sense of reality the voice. Hush Collector sets up in England, small and clean seashore city. Their music, their singing sound, also just like the sea breeze, lightly, lets the person unconsciously compare on both eyes, urges the person to go to sleep. Two person of perfect busy vocal duets, dense fog dim atmosphere, gloomy and beautiful, if the dream lingers the note, is clean from time to time, from time to time makes noise. The perception also is moved, likes to burn in slowly "the" cloud..... Hush Collector, the song if, the silencing, the silencing, so is so exquisitely attractive.. Perhaps their music, can cancel you to the mazzy star recollection, they have ?another kind of flavor, was short to absorb person's sadness, many gentleness"...
Hush Collector were formed in Brighton UK by Poppy Gonzalez who then engaged the vocal talents of talented Brighton songwriter Katie Mummery. Introspective, restrained and spacious, the songs are warm and melodic and generally take a lethargic tempo. Hushed vocal harmonies as one reviewer put it 'see the the girls duetting with supernatural intuition'..
Perfect for the after the party and the morning after....
The first songs recorded at Church Rd Studio Hove, were released on
'Flowby ep' via the bands own 'Candy Cone' label.
"they have a natural flair for producing the most intricate, poignant music on the western front, a genuinely exquisite release"... (Alternative Links)
"wonderfully displays the heart and soul of their art on their debut which, after one listen will have you hooked. R.I.Y.L.: Cowboy Junkies, Azure Ray, Mazzy Star"... (Independents Only).
"tingly & utterly delicious - a thing of the most gorgeous gossamer beauty"... (Tim Peacock)
"a collection of quiet reflective songs - sexily hushed vocals & slowburning progressions; their best moments recall music that's even more removed, & measured - the pastoral sounds of Talk Talk & Mark Hollis' solo work - "... (Opus Zine)
"... they manage to do in four songs what most groups fail to do in an entire album...which is captivate and manipulate without tiring out the listener "... (Mish Mash Music Reviews)

Although I've appeared on Coastway hospital Radio several times as a studio guest before now, last evening I co-hosted for the first time and was able to take along a clutch of records by MyFriends to give a bit of an airing
The show was interrupted twice by building evacuations due to fire alarms - no actual fire thank goodness - so I was only able to actually spin 3 of the discs I'd taken
I hesitate to call such a scrawny list a playlist but for what it's worth, here it is
Josiah Wordsworth - Witch Hunt Paradise9 - Falling for You Hush Collector - Flowby
Forms were duly filled in so whether or not you get any cash as a result is now in the hands of a higher authority but at least your music has been heard
Hopefully I'll be able to play some more next week, when I sit in again
Hope the album's coming along nicely. Look forward to hearing it. I have an early gig (piano one) at the Friends Meeting House on Dec 2nd if you're interested. Thanks.
Hi Poppy Just dropping by to say hello and have a listen...it's been ages. Looking forward to hearing completed album. Hope you are both well and happy. love Fiona x
That was 'Theory Of Machines' by Ben Frost. He's lives in Iceland and he's worked with Bjork, and I really love his shit - it sounds to me like field recordings of glaciers converted to electronics. He's in my top friends, so check him out.
Thanks for the add. It's always very nice to hear from anyone in Brighton. I have to say though, your songs reminded me more of Galaxie 500 or Young Marble Giants than any of the things you got compared to. Anyway...
