Growing up in the Lawrence Heights Metro Housing Complex a.k.a. “Jungle” Dawn Nabisco first showed his talent and appreciation for music when he created his first track at the age of eight. Being subjected to the ghetto, Nabisco learned to unleash his passion and determination, built up over years of trails and tribulations. Nabisco views his music as "the window to the young black man’s lifestyle that carries an uplifting vibe.". His upbringing in a fatherless household with minimal guidance led to Nabisco venting his anger while being led astray on the streets of Toronto. In 2003, Nabisco came out with his first compilation album Hand Over Fist, followed in 2004 with Hand Over Fist Vol. 2, selling about 5,000+ CD units of each. Facing teenage fatherhood, Nabisco triumphed despite his hardships by venting his negative energy on tracks. He now laughs in the face of adversity via his success, and is considered a spokesman for the streets. Being featured on many successful stage shows in Toronto, Nabisco has been described as "explosive" and "intriguing.". This led to him opening for successful recording artists like Boot Camp Click, Mobb Deep and Reakwon the Chef. Nabisco rarely listens to music and only mentions the greats (such as Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Big Daddy Kane, and Jay-Z) when speaking of his influences, explaining his originality and ability to create songs that are very distinctive and melodic. His music is based on life issues that the average person deals with, thus appealing to a wide consumer base. One of the key corner stones in the group Hustlemann, Dawn Nabisco has received commercial and critical acclaim throughout Canada with a series of singles and performances. Like his father (Garry Lowe), a bass player in the band "Big Sugar", Nabisco is determined to go worldwide with his music. Across Canada and Europe, his debut single "Fast Food" received rotation on commercial and college radio. In 2002, it was ranked as one of the five best Hip-Hop songs in Halifax and was charted as far as Finland. After releasing the single "A Week Ago" in 2007, Nabisco has been able to maintain street credibility, which has accumulated a vast amount of attention over the last year. The patients of the well groomed Artist/Producer have enlightened his sense of intuitively and have matured Dawn Nabisco into an individual, as apposed to a generic rapper. “Most guys rap because they don’t want to live by the means of society.
