James Brewster & Peter Henning - Rönnblomsgatan Rudbecksgatan EP
James Brewster and Peter Henning are an improvising duo based in Malmö, Sweden. For this EP, their debut release, they focus almost entirely on no input electronics, sculpting the feedback, hiss and hum of their equipment into a variety of different forms. Brewster uses two samplers, endlessly resampling small fragments of sound between the two, while simultaneously reprocessing them and adding effects. Henning mainly employs mixer feedback, moving rapidly from sustained high frequency sine waves to abrasive stabs of bass distortion, with tiny loops spinning off at intervals via two delay pedals.

Dead Letters Spell Out Dead Words - Forgive/Forget/Regret (Variation on "She Was Smiling When She Said Goodbye")
Recorded at Keiller's Park, Dec 31 2007 and Jan 1 2008. Dedicated to Redemption, or attempts thereof.

Kanada Brothers - 5th time around
Kanada Brothers is Claus Haxholm when he makes glitching collage-drones. The sounds in the works of Kanada Brothers are made with all medias available, embracing all from old tv-shows to odd-tuned string instruments to sine frequencies and drones from the digital world. This work in particular was originally made for an 8-channel sound-system which was placed in a garden surrounding the Forma Nova Festival. Here are all the 8-spliced tracks gathered for the first time. Whole and re-playable!

Martin Herterich - Recordings 070401-070521
"On this record, I wanted to explore the possibilities of the grand piano as a droning instrument. By pitching, timestretching and processing piano samples, I sometimes try to make the piano sound more like a bowed string instrument. But the record is also supposed to be a snapshot, taken a cloudy day somewhere near a harbour."

We Were Dancing - Mixtape vol.1 - we wont get old
We Were Dancing is the moniker of 21 year old drone-head Robin Rådenman. On "Mixtape vol.1 - we won..t get old", Robin continues to explore soundscapes built of distorted sounds and lo-fi field sessions. He clearly states his leading roll in the Swedish neo-electronic scene. This release should really be listened to in the crappiest little boomblaster you can find. Hi-Fi is for the bourgeois!

Militant Fields - 80.39
80.39 was first released by the label Robotriot in 2004. In the waiting for Militant Fields debut album to be released this summer, Hwem are now re-releasing his 80.39 EP together with remixes from Dead Letters Spell Out Dead Words, We Were Dancing and Militant Fields himself. 80.39 has been described as a hiccup of the Eraserhead soundtrack. Slow panning soundscapes inhales and exhales. Rumbling noise tells stories of unhappy times.

Sekvens - Live in Moskva
Sekvens started out in 2005 when sound activists Tobias Åström and Martin Herterich joined forces for a live performance in Gävle, Sweden They have since then been busy fiddling with drones and feedback, performing live, and releasing music in various forms. In august 2006 Martin headed for Russia to play a show at Electroclub in beautiful Moscow. The session was recorded, and HWEM is now proud to present it here in its entirety.

Kaburu - If he is; We're not
Kaburu was founded in 2004 by Thomas Toivonen and Iggy Malmborg, two improvising musicians and critics of civilization. After releasing hours of free music on the internet and playing several shows at venues ranging from art museums to punk clubs it..s now time for their first official release. With this 30-minute free-form piece entitled "If he is; We..re not" they are playing with conventional conceptions of art, human nature and the world.

We Were Dancing - In a simulated sense of loss
We Were Dancing is Robin Rådenman, born 1985 from Åre, Sweden. Robin has earlier released music as The Winter Quarters on the Swedish net-label Mirakelmusik and on his own website. Inspired by everyday situations and faded memories of total happiness, Robin uses distorted sounds, noise and lo-fi field recordings to create rare little soundscapes. Music for 06 and beyond
