HYBRID was born in march 2004 when Chus Maestro (ONE LAST WORD and SUPRA) recruits members from HUMAN MINCER and WORMED with the intention of setting up an extreme music project to break down the walls of mainstream music. In june 2005 the band record: “Beyond Unadeniable Entropy”, a 6 song debut MCD of avant garde, eclectic and mathematic metal released the next year by Deadwrong Records which got great reviews. The band has been playing live with TOOL and DEFTONES within Festimad Sur'06, CEPHALIC CARNAGE, MISERY INDEX, TEXTURES, MOHO, MACHETAZO and LOOKING FOR AN ANSWER between others. In the beginning of 2007 the band enter Sadman Studio to record their first full length album: “The 8th Plague”, mastered by Alan Douches (MASTODON, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN) and artwork by Seldon Hunt (NEUROSIS, ISIS), wich was released by english label Eyesofsound in August 2008. “The 8th Plague” received an outstanding reception worldwide, as it was selected as one of the best albums of the year in several specialized media, positioning the band as the next big thing in experimental and extreme metal.

HYBRID se forma en marzo del 2004 cuando Chus Maestro (ONE LAST WORD, SUPRA) reúne a miembros de HUMAN MINCER y WORMED para formar un proyecto de música extrema que rompiese las barreras de lo convencional. En junio de 2005 graban “Beyond Undeniable Entropy”, un MCD de presentación con 6 canciones de metal vanguardista, ecléctico y matemático que verá la luz un año más tarde a través de Deadwrong Records obteniendo excelentes críticas. El grupo ha estado presentando su propuesta en directo junto a bandas como TOOL y DEFTONES en Festimad Sur'06, CEPHALIC CARNAGE, MISERY INDEX, TEXTURES, MOHO, MACHETAZO y LOOKING FOR AN ANSWER entre otros. A principios del 2007 entran en los estudios Sadman para grabar su primer disco completo “The 8th Plague”, masterizado por Alan Douches (MASTODON, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN) y con artwork de Seldon Hunt (NEUROSIS, ISIS), que fue editado por el sello inglés Eyesofsound en Agosto de 2008. “The 8th Plague”recibe una gran acogida mundial, elegido uno de los mejores discos del año en varios medios especializados y estableciendo al grupo como una gran promesa del metal extremo experimental.
