Hydrophidian is a one man band. Presently located in Cambridge, Illinois. Formed in 2001, Hydrophidian was originally named "Cathexis". The name was already being used so it soon changed to Hydrophidian. Not always a one man band, Hydrophidian has had many members. The struggle to write music with many clashing viewpoints and opinions led to many lineup changes. There have been (approximately) 7bass players, 13guitarists, 6drummers, 4vocalists, and 3 keyboardists. After about 3 1/2 years, the decision to write music as an individual instead of a group was made and there are roughly 60 completed instrumental songs. Other projects by the same artist include the noise project "Einzelhaft", and the death metal project "Rapist".
