"Coming from the same, ultra-creative, brilliantly DIY, South East scene as Meet Me In St Louis, their recent EP, 'Everyone Runs Faster With A Knife', and forthcoming double a-side single, 'Lost The Magic'/'Broken Sound', are filled with the same explosive energy and excitement as the much-missed St Louis boys early demo recordings. With a slight nod towards an American 90's indie influence in the vocals, these are definitely one of my new favourite bands and they should be yours too."
Kevin Douch of Big Scary Monsters Recording Company.
"For a band that aren’t even supposed to be here today and experience technical hitches from their first song, last minute additions Hold Your Horse Is are pretty damn good too. Their punk rock lightning strike songs aren’t subtle and threaten to fly completely out of control at times but they possess some stellar rolling percussion that could out down wild beats."
Simon T Diplock of Moderate Rock.
"Speaky ‘Art Brut’-esque bits. Rough, sloppy arrogance in the vein of ‘Shooting At Unarmed Men’. Dark, quick-paced riffs that would sound at home with ‘yourcodenameis:milo’and the edge that Biffy Clyro had back before they became everyone’s favourite band – and you have Hold Your Horse Is."
Stephen McLeod of Artrocker.
"Some real killer riffs being mixed into full throttle high energy rock." Neil Richardson of RoomThirteen.
"Spiky three-piece who jerk their guitar riffs around like an epileptic at the Blackpool illuminations." Shane Blanchard of Tastyfanzine.
“Quite simply it’s all about the riffs, rhythm, and groove. Hold Your Horse Is have it in abundance and they rock motherhumpers!” Will Simpson of Brigade.
"This is good pie!!"
Guy Davis of Reuben.
"...and just in case you were thinking of tuning out ‘cause that wasn't quite loud enough for you, woah Hold Your Horse Is! ... thrashing their guitars like a mad axe man who has got out of bed, on the wrong side!’"
Steve Lamacq of BBC Radio 1.
