   About HYMNS
CDRs: $5
LPs: $10
Verses series cassettes: $10

Prices are postpaid in the US. Paypal to ourownhymns@gmail.com or message me for a mailing address.

5" CDRs are packaged in three panel foldover black linen cover stock with a colored cover stock insert. The CDR itself is affixed to a plastic hub attached to the black linen. Dimensions are roughly that of a jewel case. The right half of the colored insert shows, so it has a nice two color effect. Additionally, they are packaged in protective sealed polyvinyl sleeves.

[hymn 23]
Oubliette Live Collection enhanced cdr
Live recordings from nine performances occurring between February 2006 and 2007 in the southeast. Also includes small Windows Media files of four full sets. Edition of 100.

- - -

[hymn 22]
Jijimuge 777 3" cdr
Slow building ambient drones from dismantled electronics. Edition of 77.

- - -

[hymn 21]
Andrew Chadwick Magnetic Personality cdr
An answer to an unintended challenge from Hal McGee. A companion to his Magnetic Personality release, recorded at the same time and often featuring the same moments. Microcassette tape collage in the manner of Hal's The Man With The Tape Recorder.

- - -

[hymn 20]
Jeff Rehnlund Our Thin Mercy Of Error cdr
Field recordings, cut-ups, sounds both performed and chosen, woven together with cassette atmospheres. Collages assembled from snips and tapes acquired in and between New York and North Carolina, anonymous North Atlantic locations, and places invariably left off the maps: deathbeds, sinking ships, angles of wind, childhood hallucinations, rooftops, media signals, and your bedroom. A personal, rough hewn work of beauty. Edition of 134.

- - -

[hymn 18]
Ironing A Day At The Beach cdr
A brief, rather quiet moment on the beach in Miami captured on microcassette is explored through ten cassette loops and the built-in speakers of portable cassette players both in a live and studio setting. Edition of 57.

- - -

[hymn 17]
Ironing Pocket Almanac cdr
A digital recording from two sources of a live performance from October 30, 2005, opening for Nautical Almanac at Pocket Sandwich in Tallahassee, FL. Separated by themes into eight seamless tracks.

- - -

[hymn 16]
Wether Skin Atonement 3" cdr
"Reissue of the debut WETHER cassette on (the defunct?) Lovers Tapes. Now in digital format. A fucked up fusion of ambient and harsh environmental manipulations, tweaked vocals, and distorted percussion." Numbered edition of 100.

- - -

[hymn 15]
GayBomb/Ironing split LP
Four tracks of magnetic strip bursts from GayBomb, abusing the Califone card reader. Harried, focused, hypnotic. One live set from Ironing manipulating tapes, vinyl and microcassettes into a dense collage. 400 pressed with 50 on white, 50 on clear orange, a few on a mix of the two. White DJ sleeves with screened covers.

- - -

[hymn 14]
Dead Vagina/GayBomb split cdr
Atlanta squall and pummel alongside Charleston's frenzied card reader attack. Live sets from both recorded via loveliest microcassette for extra fidelity. Also features additional card reader explorations from GayBomb. Numbered edition of 82.

- - -

[hymn 9]
Bigga Baphomet Blasphemous Assmittens cdr
Dark, brooding ambience vs. heavy, droning carnage at play in a decaying cosmos, with a splash of satanik catharsis thrown in for good measure. The sound of the last moment of your life being pitch shifted down. And down. And down.

- - -

[hymn 6]
Ironing vs. Bigga Baphomet Ultimate Sound Clatter cdr
Mike Colby (aka Bigga Baphomet) has spent the majority of his life building sounds in one fine form after another. He's just as talented at disassembling them and playing in their remains. 60+ minutes of aural mud-flinging and synthesis between old friends. Tapes, microcassettes, and records meet laptop sound deconstruction amongst dub influence, recorded live in the studio.

- - -

[hymn 5]
DJ Goddamn Never Mind the Static... This is Miami! cdr
The dense Miami radio airwaves get worshipped and destroyed with the help of a boombox and some deft fingers. There's a lot of variety down there, from guilty pleasure radio jamz to a variety of latin music and reggae, new and old. Listen to it all get cut up, smushed together and scratched with static and each other. If you don't realize how great this is, I daresay you're not listening closely enough. There are four different covers for this that join to form a big puzzle collage. $1.50 extra if you want the other 3 covers.

- - -

[hymn 3]
Ironing Grow My Beard Like A Wizard cdr
More tape and record collage and manipulation. Dense and escalating, this squeaks and crawls in torrents.

- - -

[hymn 2]
Ironing Let's Fucking Go! cdr
Tape collage/noise w/ a cassette jockeyed hardcore section -- backwards forwards, cut up, with all the good breaks. Microcassettes and regular tapes smushed together with occasional keyboard splatter.

Verses cassette series:
The Verses series focuses on tape manipulation of prerecorded commerical audio cassettes. The audio is recorded to computer, with multiple takes of each side. These takes are mixed together and the final mix is recorded back to the original source tape. Each release in the series is limited to one copy: the original source tape, which now instead contains the manipulated audio. The original j-card has series and artist designation stamped over the original artwork. The cassette shell does not contain any additional markings. As these are limited to a single copy each please email or message to reserve before sending payment.

This is my music video for "It's Not Easy When You're Me"

You guys, I've been told I need to do a better job of promotimg my band, so I'm trying my hand at ye olde myspace spamming... Have you ever been friends with a myspace spammer? Have you ever woken up next to a myspace spammer? I figure in the future we'll all probably be robots anyway, so I'm cool with it...

Hey.

We've opened the
ron_zed DIY records yahoo group and stuff so you're invited to join in!

You are also invited to visit the
ron_zed records myspace page and catch up with on news about our artists (gaop, Aboolele, Angstrom, PGP and Shtota Kola) plus friends, releases and label news (all of the updates and news will be posted on myspace and as individual bulletins and messages on the groups bulletin board and mailing list).

To those of you not familiar with ron_zed:
ron_zed is an Israeli non profit DIY label, working with noise, experimental music, mental music and … well, anything we like actually.

If you are an artist looking for distribution, trades, being on compilations or getting your stuff heard overseas, drop a line!

We're waiting!
