Hyperlexic started with a stand up poetry gig organised by Kate Fox at Northern Stage in April 2007. It continues with a John Hegley headlined gig at the Saville Exchange in North Shields in April 18th. Apples and Snakes are backing a masterclass first in the afternoon.
Future gigs, events, workshops and publications will mix spoken word and live literature in interesting ways.
Performance poetry and stand up comedy is one fusion.
Future gigs will experiment with ways of mixing live literature of all types with music, theatre, comedy, art, circus and heck, maybe even knitting. As long as there are words being heard, all things are possible.
