Biography
Real name Justin Keels born July 1st 1983. Right off the bat starting from an early age I always had that ear for the instrumentals and beats that I heard. From video games first is where I started hearing these instrumentals like that’s hot or I would sit there and pause the screen just to listen to the beat. Then music came along and what I’ve always done from day one is listen to the instrumental first before the artist. I didn’t care what artist it was or what they were saying, the beat was talking to me. If it wasn’t a hot beat then I wasn’t playing it regardless.
Around 1999 me and my boy in high school started writing songs just to do it cause we had some little battle going between us. After having it all written out I got into learning how to record myself on the 1st computer I ever had. Got all the programs I could get and just messed around until I got everything working. Learned the hard way but very quick in how to do things and before I knew it I had my first track recorded and put it on cd. Brought it to the school and let people listen and they was feelin it. Probably was straight booty but people gave me a boost like yea they really like it. So I stuck with writing and recording songs throughout that time until 2008. Recorded well over 200 songs and released 6 albums locally. Very well known in the area but I never took it that serious.
While in my times of recording I got into producing and making beats but was trash at it. Would work at it, post online, nobody feelin the beats and then I just stopped doin it cause I really didn’t know what I was doing or people was telling me it was trash. So i said forget it and sold my first midi keyboard. Around 2006 or a little earlier I really was into the West Coast scene more than the East. Started listening to E-40 which got me on to all the other artists out there. Then the beats I was hearing was like damn that’s what I’m talking about right there. Only one cruisin in the whip playin that Yay Area on the East. But it’s that guy Rick Rock that had them beats that had me like damn that’s what I really wanna fuck with. So listening to more of his material and everyone else out there I got another keyboard and was back on making beats.
Wasn’t until 2008 when I thought about just making Hyphy/West Coast type beats cause that’s what I was really into. So I made the myspace page, put up some hyphy beats that I had and that’s where it all started. Coming with a different sound and my own style, artists from myspace caught on. I was adding every Bay Area and West Coast artist and constantly messaging them to check out my beats. Not too long after just starting I was getting contacted back sayin the beats was hot and they wanted to drop tracks over them. So that’s where my start was at. From then on I just been making beats nonstop bringing that fire and different style that anyone can feel out there. After a year and some change I’ve worked with many talented artist and plan on expanding out even more. Most likely moving out there in 2009 to be where it’s really at and get a hold on what’s really good. So be ready cause it’s time to bring somethin new to the table.
