Since Leeds’ finest Black Wire sadly departed in 2007 leaving their loyal fans woefully perplexed, shipwrecked members Daniel Wilson (vocalist) and Thomas Greatorex (bassist) embarked on another journey across the hellish seas through which they once sailed… only this time with a new diabolical crew on board: Rob Bootle (guitar & vox) & Bat Neck (drums), and a mission to pursue old (but not forgotten) passions and dreams. Televised Crimewave are no doubt the alter egos of the former Black Wire brotherhood; and this time, like a pack of hungry wolves, they beg listeners to join them in a wicked adventure to explore the deepest darkest shadows of reality with unpredictable, fucked up Ouija-board garage pop along with sharp licks of punk. Get ready to witness the memorable raw self-expression of Daniel in his stage presence, and the overall intriguing performance of this passionate quartet as they headline our launch party! (See myspace.com/televisedcrimewaveuk)
Prior to this will be guitarist and drummer Rory Attwell’s (ex-Test Icicles/Rat:att:agg member) newest collaboration with frontwoman Rachel Callaghan, Gemma Fleet (bass/vox) and Scott R Walker (guitar/drums). KASMs inject Gun Club-esque beats with drone, noise and elements of punk rock/punk blues. Callaghan’s innocent appearance belies her ability to deliver a frenzied outburst of desperate howls and piercing yet hypnotic vocals at their best giving us a powerful and highly energetic performance. Having watched this band from its early life and beginnings, Mirror! Mirror! has grown into something solid and wonderful. Since forming, they have shared line-up with the likes of Klaxons, Trencher, Pre and soon to be Japanese noise band Melt Banana. Lead vocalist Stephen Broadley and his band of comrades have captured the hearts across the land with their complex yet catchy rhythms and mesmerizing vocals of pro-longed high pitch. The bands sound and developed over the last three years and journeyed through various influences along the way. Now they concentrate on a more punk/new wave-based sound, which cannot help but encourage movement in our limbs. Their Wolfgang Bang/Silicon Eyes 7" double a side single is available now. Mirror! Mirror! will be performing first on the launch night! (See myspace.com/mirror)

Static Rain is a 2 piece band from the beautiful Yorkshire town of Keighley. Band members Tony Garthwaite and Jacob Barlow formed the band in 2008, driven by a joint passion for both electronic music and retro synths. The music they produce can be described as electronic pop with catchy choruses and memorable riffs that are prominent in all of their songs, making them popular with a very wide audience.
Following their initial success on MySpace, Static Rain continues to build a solid fan base and a strong reputation as a live act. The band is currently looking for gigs from June 09 onwards throughout the whole of the UK.
