Biography
About 5 years ago, 4 young teenagers came together to form a pop-punk band called Final Offer; guitarist - Matt DiPietro, bassist - Mike DeMellia, drummer - Dave Belmont, and a lead singer - Will Sullivan. They played cover songs from popular bands such as The All-American Rejects and Blink-182. As time went on, Will drifted out of the band, and guitarist, Matt, took his place singing lead vocals and playing guitar. This led the band to take a turn for the better, and they started writing their own material. When Matt entered his freshman year of high school, the group booked their first real show at the Sad Cafe in Plaistow, NH. The night before the show, they all agreed on the name change from Final Offer to Hysteria. Over the next few years, they caught the attention of other local bands and The Berklee School of Music representatives at the Berklee Battle of the Bands two years in a row. In 2006, they released their first EP called "Secrets Became Conversation". Shortly after its release, Hysteria participated in another battle of the bands called the Emergenza Festival, in which they played at venues such as The Middle East and The Paradise in Boston, (where many well known bands such as U2 have played). They have also played at Harper’s Ferry, Milly’s Tavern, and The Paladium, bringing their large following of friends and fans wherever they go.
Currently, Matt is a student at The University of Texas, while Dave is a graduate of the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences and working as an assistant audio engineer for Clinton Recording Studios in New York City, and Mike is a student Springfield College pursuing his bachelor’s degree. Recently Hysteria added a bassist, Andy Talbot, to the line-up because of his awesome musicianship or what people would call "mad skills", and Mike took up guitar. Andy is currently attending Northern Essex Community College.
So today, Hysteria is Matt, Mike, Dave, and Andy, and they plan on sticking together even though they are off doing their own thing. Check our page from time to time just incase we decide to put up new tracks and post more shows!
