Thank you for visiting my 'My Space' I write romantic science fantasy, although I have been known to venture into other genres, especially Westerns. I have always loved reading - everything from the classics to James Bond! I love all animals, especially horses and enjoy Western riding. I have two horses, Harry and T'pau, two ferrel cats, Milly and Molly and a rescued Jack Russell terrier called Bouncer- oh, and a husband, called Dave. I usually manage to sneak some sort of horse or unicorn into my stories. (In case you're wondering, 'Hywela' is Welsh and is my first name. Since I've always only been called by my second name, Lyn, I decided to combine the two and use Hywela Lyn as my pen name.)
I love writing romantic tales of heroism and adventure in other worlds. My first novel 'STARQUEST' was published in August 2008 by THE WILD ROSE PRESS, and the sequel is due for release in June 2009. I'm thinking about a possible third book in the series. Watch this space for further details...

EXCERPT FROM STARQUEST
Her heart lurched as she looked into the eyes she had once thought cold, unable to hide the longing, or the anxiety in her own. “Do you mean that? Are you sure this is what you want?” she asked, torn between her desperate need for reassurance of his feelings toward her and a genuine desire to say nothing that would make him feel trapped into giving up the freedom she knew he valued so highly. He drew her close to him again.
"How sure do you think I have to be? I love you, Jess.” He kissed the top of her head, her forehead, her lips. “You are the only woman I could ever contemplate spending the rest of my life with.” He smiled once more and she caught the irony in his voice. “The only one I could ever really trust.”
He looked at her with a softness of expression she had never seen in him before, as he reached into his tunic and produced a small, antique gold ring, set with Terran diamonds and emeralds.
“I have carried this around with me for a long time. It belonged to my mother. I don’t remember her, she died when I was very young. I want you to have it, now.”
