Influences
Influences for Industry 6 range from early artists such as Pink Floyd, The Doors. and Depeche Mode, to modern artists including Incubus, Deftones, and Chevelle.
Industry 6 was founded by guitarist Randy Forester (former member of Spokan) who later recruited James Smylie on lead guitar (former member of Red Tape Poetry and Telling Jonas). Randy and James quickly began creating a foundation of music in which Industry 6 would soon build upon with the addition of Michael Murillo on vocals and Rob Greene on drums (co-founders of Earful) , and Zak Stanley on bass (former member of Exit 380) .Thus solidifying the unique timeless sound of Industry 6.
In late 2006 Industry 6 started their song-writing/performance career marketing in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Since then they have gained much attention from main stream and underground listeners in their hometown. Shortly after releasing their original songs to the public they have accomplished satisfying multiple headlining shows across the DFW metropolis, Houston, and San Antonio areas and have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with several nation acts such as The Vanished, Michael Graves (former Misfits member), Neverset, Six (former members of Cypress Hill), Miser, and punk-rock legends The Vibrators.
Industry 6’s music has evolved from old classic rock influences, while still retaining the signature Deftones/Incubus/Chevelle sound they are most commonly known for. A full length album is planned to be released early next year.
