Washington DC native Chester Hawkins has peformed as BLUE SAUSAGE INFANT since 1986. The sound of BSI encompasses brutalist noise, dark drones, pounding neo-tribalism, krautrock-flavored psychedelia, or cut-ups of cultural artifacts. The idea is to induce trance states, by any means necessary.
Instrumentation involves a mix of electronics with more organic sources: Squeaky dog toys and digitally abused lap-steel guitars have recently joined the arsenal of synths, bass, samplers, and acoustic items.
BSI has produced 14 full releases under the Intangible Arts imprint and has contributed to compilations across the USA and England. Collaborators include Violet, Haunted Toilet, Changes to Blind, New Carrollton, Lida Husik, and Stolen Government Binder Clip. A selection of BSI material has been used for the soundtrack to Tim Ashby’s film Surface To Air, due for release in 2010.

This is kinda random, but I took a glance at your discography and noticed that you contributed some vocals on Lisa Husik's "Bozo" album. I bought that CD in high school and stumbled upon it again recently and gave it another listen. Nice work on "Up" Reverend Hawkins! I used to like that song "Hateful Hippy Girls" quite a bit. What a small, weird world. Good luck at Sonic Circuits this year, I hope to check out that show.
GREETINGS... OUR FIRST FIVE STAR REVIEW FROM USA Sendelica: The Girl From The Future Who Lit Up The Sky With Golden Worlds
The instrumental outfit from Wales Sendelica returns with a fabulous collection of seven face melting jams on their brand new offering for RAIG called The Girl From The Future Who Lit Up The Sky With Golden Worlds. For this new disc the two principal members, Pete Bingham (guitars, electronics) and Glenda Pescado (bass) have enlisted two Boston area musicians Geoff Chase (drums) and Ed Guild (electronics) to join them on their lengthy, astral excursions. Kicking off with a brief snippet of sampled, ethic tinged female vocals "Standing On The Edge" quickly shifts into overdrive as Bingham slashes out a mammoth swath of thick power chords, as bursts of psychedelic sounding electronics swirl around his extended solos. His guitar lets out an extended run of feedback at the tail end of the track before seamlessly segueing directly into the metallic, twelve minute crunch of "Manhole Of The Universe". Bingham tears off solo after solo.... FOR FULL REVIEW GO TO... http://www.seaoftranquility.org/reviews.php?op=showcontent&id=7884
I listened to Scalpels for the Animal God today. As soon as track 3 started I saw McCain's floating head and remembered where I was on election eve. Great stuff! Gary
