The Indiana AIDS Fund began in 1994 and has become the largest private funder of HIV and AIDS programs in the state of Indiana. It is a fund-raising and grant-making organization dedicated to supporting programs and services that help educate and assist Hoosiers with HIV/AIDS. To date it has provided more than $4 million in grants to more than 60 organizations across Indiana.
About me: The Indiana AIDS Fund has two major fundraising events every year: Spotlight in April, and the AIDS Walk & Ride in October.
The Annual Indiana AIDS Walk & Ride is on SATURDAY, Oct. 10, 2009. Check this MySpace page and the official site, www.indianaaidsfund.org for more details leading up to the event.
Why do you Walk?
The AIDS Walk & Ride is an annual event that supports programs and services serving the more than 10,000 Hoosiers with HIV/AIDS. The pandemic is far from over – infection rates are increasing among women, youth and minorities. Indiana remains above the national average of young people under 25 who are living with AIDS.
Individual participants and teams solicit pledges from family, friends, co-workers, employers and others to benefit the Greg Powers/Direct Emergency Financial Assistance Fund (DEFA). DEFA provides funds for those with HIV/AIDS who need assistance with emergency shelter, utilities, food, medicine, and other daily living needs.

About this page: I have been very active in Domestic Violence causes all of my adult life. I noticed a need in the world pertaining to Same Sex Domestic Violence. It happens more than people know. Unfortunately there is a number of gay people who barely consider themselves worthy or valued as a gay person much less a Domestic Violence Victim. There is also very limited resources, statistics, or information, for Same Sex Domestic Violence. Hopefully through empowerment and education we can change some of this. :D

Comprehensive plan will fight HIV/AIDS epidemic at home and abroad
"The loss from HIV/AIDS is almost beyond understanding," said Edwards. "This is a fight for people's lives. HIV is a preventable disease – but an estimated 40,000 new HIV cases were reported in the U.S. last year, and 4.3 million were reported around the world. What's more, HIV/AIDS is a treatable disease – yet 17,000 Americans and 3 million people globally died from it in 2005. We have a moral imperative to do much more and do it much better."
Edwards' proposals to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic build on his plan to provide universal health care for all Americans. Edwards was the first presidential candidate to propose a plan for quality, affordable health care for every man, woman and child in America. He has also promised to take on the big insurance and drug companies, pledging to submit legislation on the first day of his administration that ends health care coverage for the president, all members of Congress, and all senior political appointees in both the executive and legislative branches of government on July 20th, 2009 unless universal health care legislation that meets four specific, non- of negotiable principles has been passed by that date.
