I was born in Stornoway on the Isle
of Lewis growing up in a home where singing was a huge part of everyday life.
My parents didn't quite see the value of learning to play guitar though, so
I had to make do with playing "Love Me Tender" on a Yamaha keyboard while my
mates were playing "Talk Dirty" on SGs in the barn down the road.
I went to Glasgow University in 1995 and finally persuaded my parents to buy
me a guitar. I became a christian while in Glasgow. My cousin and I formed the
band 'Canvas' in the summer of 1999 and released our debut album 'Less Than
Perfect' in December 2001. After Ruairidh left the band to take up full-time
ministry, myself and the remaining band-members started off 'Xtreme' - a truly
in-yer-face youth event. See the website for more!

I began writing and recording the demos for my solo album 'Best Seat in the
House' with Mike Merritt in 2002 and the album was released in August 2003.

I lead the worship at the Bayhead Youth Group in Stornoway every Sunday night
and I'm the worship leader for the multi-denominational organisation, 'Stand
in the Gap'.
