*lyrically, take a look around Leicester and you'll see babysitting girls, cruisers, bandits, plastic armys and people that will ask you for lighters.

Get down to one of our gigs and find out for yourself ;)
We're those bloody Pickpockets you hear all about. A four piece band from the beautiful city of Leicester. We've just starting to get into the swing of the gigging business so look out for us on your travels! Either way check out the tunes, drop us a comment or check out the reviews!
Au Revoir
Arts In Leicestershire
"Next on was young Leicester band Pickpockets with their brand of fresh and updated funky rock and roll, full of gloriously infectious rhythms and catchy guitar riffs. A wonderful cocktail of rock styles, nicely blended together and skillfully orchestrated by the guitarists and drummer. With their well crafted songs, lead by vocalist Omar Adam, Pickpockets have come on strongly since they started gigging last year. With a load of new songs they are proving themselves to be a growing presence on the local scene."
"Pickpockets hit the stage first, the young four piece band from Leicester kicked off the night with their bouncy and youthful style of music.
Leading from the front with Omar on guitar and vocals, Jon laying down the funky rifts, Glenn bringing in the bass with extreme style and talent and the crash of cymbals comes from Dave drumming away at the back.
Due to a last minute drop out the Pickpockets had a mere four hours notice prior to the gig starting and still they left a memorable impression on me, a band with potential for the future."
We finally have got some tracks online, two at the minute, but two more coming soon. Will let you know when we have them. Let us know what you think. Cheers lads.
MONOTONIX Saturday 28th November Nice n Sleazys, Glasgow
The release of their new album tops off a whirlwind year of touring, the infamy surrounding their charged live perfomances steadily mounting. Rightly so, check out this youtube link- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmEHu-QAgNE&feature=related - and marvel at one of the typically unpredictable gigs of the band that Spin have declared the "most exciting live band in rock'n'roll."

KING KHAN AND THE SHRINES Sun 4th Oct @ Stereo, Glasgow
We have just added ##THE BLACK RAT DEATH SQUAD## to the bill
Support comes from Jack of Hearts Uncle Big Bad
"Fusing the driving stomps of classic sixties soul with the muddy yet crunchy guitars and puerile words of garage rock, King Khan & The Shrines are one of those uncommon groups who seem to live in the past and still make an attention-grabbing noise. The Supreme Genius is a retrospective of their work this century from initial 45s through to the cleaner more sophisticated efforts of their last proper album, What Is?!. Soul is certainly a key ingredient in the Shrine's psychedelic stew, though purists would balk at describing the end product as one of their own ('filthy racket' being the likely response). Fans of the 'rock 'n' soul' pedigree stretching from the Kingsmen to The Make Up and The Black Lips, however, should be more accepting, as will anyone who likes their music loud and raucous" BBC Music

Ah nice, let me know nearer the time when your on and that and i'll tune in and have a listen. Well we're getting a load more stuff written and then hopefully recording another 2 or 3 songs quite soonish. We've also got another song totally recorded with just a little bit of mastering to go. The gig planner's a bit bare at the minute because we've been writing a new set but it'sw building. We're just looking at going to play in London a few times. We've also got offers in Birmingham and Manchester at the minute. Club Underfoot in October and then some acoustic nights and shiz. We'll have to get a gig together soon? Yeah Sumo's a good venue. I wanna get in there when our new set's sorted.
It was a fucking top night lads, absolutely rammed. There was that many people we were struggling to play haha! Plus free booze never goes down badly! Long night though, drinking from 6 till quatre to 3 the next morning so I was plastered! How're your new songs sounding?
