Originally only a name and idea on paper, Between the Rain found its spark and fuse in Brooklyn, New York in the fall of 2007. With a growing fanbase and natural of style, the band has shown to be a sight and sound to behold ever since. The founding member, Tim Donlon spent his earliest days in the Detroit area, a spot rich in musical culture and tradition whcih served as an excellent training ground for an artist set on finding a distinct musical path. For Donlon, the formation of Between the Rain was not one that happened smoothly though. He had to find the right people, ones he knew would be close allies with true creative vision.
The first he met was Victoria Rothman. Born and raised in Brooklyn, she found her knack for instruments early on, first picking one up at the age of 9. Over the years she's become a multi-instrumentalist and spent time studying at Berklee School of Music, eventually dropping out for the sake of her musical ambitions.
Soon after the two met, they found a drummer who brought their dynamic into altogether new territory. Rocky Now, another Brooklyn native started playing drums at 16 and within a year was performing and recording in touring acts. Having played throughout the East Coast, he has at times caught the attentionof local and regional press. A journalist from New York's Village Voice once compared his style to that of Rolling Stones' drummer Charlie Watts. Though flattered, Rocky hardly sees the similarity.
Between the Rain is a trio that weaves soundscapes through storytelling rhythms, stringsa thast march together and spiral apart at will, and a voice, powerful yet clear. In a short time they have shown to be a dynamic and incendiary hard rock creation.
