cleaninglady...
cleaninglady is a solo project from Australian Producer/Sound Artist - Stephen Richards.
cleaninglady live performances are completely Improvised and unrehearse using Empty Mixer and sometimes other sound sources to generate sounds ;
manipulating and ultimately destroying them through the use of many different types of Effects Pedals , Signal Generators and Interrupted Electronics.
The live sound is ambient with an unsettling subtext ; at times extreme and always exploring the high and low frequency spectrum.
I will generally look at the audience/venue at the time and change the live sound to suit the mood of the night. In this way , cleaninglady live shows are never the same twice and remain fresh and stay true to live on the spot improvisation.
Stephen is the Sound Engineer and House DJ at Make It Up Club , performs as cleaninglady throughout Australia and Japan.
I work as a Sax Player and Session Player in Many Ensembles ; Styles ranging from Free Jazz through Experimental Music , Rock and Funk Electro.
I produce Minimal House/Techno under the name (((nimbledoe)))
and also play Sax with many of the Top DJ's and Bands throughout Australia and the Global House Music Network...see the Stevie Richards.
Past groups and ensembles have included : Bucketrider Big Band ,
Bohjass Upas Militia , Ray Of Creation ,
Spencer P. Jones and the Last Gasp
and Imperial Leatherman (on Vocals , Analog Synths and Effects Boxes).
