I tried to give my thought of your question about Hip Hop being so different on your Twitter tweet, but it didn't go through (guess I gotta be a Twitter member) so I copied down below:
Word, I say it's because today's rappers aren't respecting Hip Hop like the way they did in the 80's & 90's... and I think that's due to a lack of knowledge... they don't know the history of Hip Hop and I think frankly they don't care!!!
They're just riding the dick and bra strap of Hip Hop's success... it being a billion dollar industry... seem like it's all about the old mighty dollar these days... not the talent and creativity of what made Hip Hop... HIP HOP ...back in the days!!!
I would say I blame the record companies and radio... catering to a specific market and neglecting the rest of us that know real Hip Hop when we hear it ...swept a lot of real MCs out there today that's in their teens and earlier 20's under the underground carpet without a chance of seeing a time to shine in the spot light they deserve to be in!!!
Please, when they're considering Lil Wayne the hottest rapper to ever blaze a mic... you know their is something terribly wrong in Hip Hop!!! Shiiiiiiiiiiit!!!!!!
Just droppin by to say congrats, heard Freestyle Session was a success. Also, mad props to you man, you were workin like crazy at FSS. Can't wait for the 13th anniversary!
