After various fits and starts in award winning pop outfits and bands that never made it out of the rehearsal studio, Larissa Tandy finally released an ep of her own work under the name Loveproof in 2007. The ep was well received, and showcased her knack for blending bittersweet stories with beautiful pop, strange folk, and pieces of rock.
She returned to the studio immediately to record a follow up ep, but abandoned the recordings and relocated to North America to put her cinematic songwriting style to work, composing for various film and television projects.
Eventually craving a break from writing for other people, she built a studio in an attic in Chicago, and spent an entire winter writing and demo-ing songs with the vague intention of making a solo record. While making room on her hard drive she rediscovered the recordings that she left behind in Melbourne two years earlier, and decided it was time for them to see the light of day.
She returns to Australia to release them as a four track ep this October.
