Post-purist dada blabber.
..First and foremost, I am a film[video]maker. After that, I am a photographer, musician, sound engineer, painter, writer, shitdigger, whatever. If I do it, then I do it, and I give it a lot of focus and attention. I like to play piano and right now I am really into playing Un sospiro by Liszt, Claire de lune by Debussy, and a lot of free improve jazzy stuff. If you want a taste of the films I make, I have a few of them right here! There are some things that I have done from "now" and "then". I am constantly writing and working on projects. My latest big short, "Micheal's Storm" recieved Best Drama at the Poppy Jasper Film Festival in 2005 and is now getting rejected at festivals all over the country!
I don't get down about it though, I just keep making things.

Ingmar Bergman - The Man
This is such a beautiful film... just beautiful... and the bliss...white booming light...
....
HEDGEHOG IN THE FOG - Yuri Norstein, 1975
I mostly like foreign esoteric bullshit or artsy esoteric bullshit. I am a Godard goon, a Fellini freak, a Lynch loco, a Kubrick kook and a Bergman... bolshevik? I like Pop movies too. Some of my favorite movies of all time are:
Brazil, Fight Club, Band of Outsiders, The Royal Tenenbaums, Hudsucker Proxy, Nights of Caberia, Rubin and Ed, and Eraserhead.
I think they rock! I get really scared by a lot of dumb movies - the Ring, Gostbusters II, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and Thirteen Ghosts - some of those movies aren't dumb, of course, but COME ON!!!! ROGER RABBIT!?!? That movie gave me nightmares for weeks - when the cartoon woman who's NOT Jessica Rabbit chases Bob Hoskins through Toontown - how silly is that?!?!?!?!! I really like the films of George A. Romero and I am trying to expand my knowledge of horror films in general. I REALLY enjoy avant-garde film and animation - Maya Deren kicks ass!!!
AT LAND - Maya Deren, 1944
Found It!
I like German Expressionism and French New Wave and Dada and Surrealism and all that gooblegable! I like the animation of filmmakers like Yuri Norstein, Pritt Parn, Norman MacLaren (and his live action stuff) and Jan Svankmajer (who doesn't like being called an animator) and of course Terry Gilliam.
THE ADVENTURES OF WINNIE POOH - Joseph Stalin, 1984
The following is a controversial statement from me:the best film Tim Burton ever made was Ed Woodanybody care to argue with me about that one?
If you haven't seen the following movies, you should go see them as soon as you can!!! They will change your life forever...

..Books
..FRENCH BOOKS FRENCH BOOKS FRENCH BOOKS!!! I'm learning french so if any of you even read this far, and you know some french language books/authors, hook 'em up dawg!!!
the magnetic fields, la grande bouvrie, the trial, the little prince, the 11th hour, death grip (by me). I read a lot of film/video/animation books and I spend a lot of time searching for any books on location sound recording for film (sounds easy? No no no no...). I have picked up a lot of books but have rarely finished them. I am a rather slow reader, but I get really into what I read. I often find the best way for me to stay interested in a book is to start from the last chapter and work my way backwards ("literary blasphemy" you might say!). I happily read the little prince in a couple of hours and read Story by McKee in a montha, and I actually read and finished Crime & Punishment, I'm very happy to say. Other than that, I take a LONG FUCKING TIME, and usually don't finish anything.
..Heroes
..I, I will be king
And you, you will be queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can beat them, just for one day
We can be Heroes, just for one day
And you, you can be mean
And I, I'll drink all the time
'Cause we're lovers, and that is a fact
Yes we're lovers, and that is that
Though nothing, will keep us together
We could steal time,
just for one day
We can be Heroes, for ever and ever
What d'you say?
I, I wish you could swim
Like the dolphins, like dolphins can swim
Though nothing,
nothing will keep us together
We can beat them, for ever and ever
Oh we can be Heroes,
just for one day
I, I will be king
And you, you will be queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can be Heroes, just for one day
We can be us, just for one day
I, I can remember (I remember)
Standing, by the wall (by the wall)
And the guns shot above our heads (over our heads)
And we kissed, as though nothing could fall (nothing could fall)
And the shame was on the other side
Oh we can beat them, for ever and ever
Then we could be Heroes, just for one day
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
Just for one day
We can be Heroes
We're nothing, and nothing will help us
Maybe we're lying, then you better not stay
But we could be safer, just for one day
Oh-oh-oh-ohh, oh-oh-oh-ohh,
just for one day
I'm So Tired Out here, barely see my breath
Surrounded by jealousy and death
I can't be reached, only had one call
Dragged underneath, separate from you all...
You all...
This time, lost my own return
In spite of everything I've learned
I hid my tracks, spit out all my air
Slipped into cracks, stripped of all my cares...
My cares...
I'm so tired, sheep are counting me
No more struggle, no more energy
No more patient, you can write that down
It's all too crazy, and I'm not hanging round
Fraggle Rock Dance your cares away,
Worry's for another day.
Let the music play,
Down at Fraggle Rock.
Work you cares away,
Dancing's for another day.
Let the Fraggles play,
We're Gobo, Mokey, Wembley, Boober, Red.
Dance your cares away,
Worry's for another day.
Let the music play,
Down at Fraggle Rock.
Down at Fraggle Rock.
Down at Fraggle Rock.

THIS VIDEO NO LONGER EXISTS?!?
Hey ever..ybody, I made a movie that got me into the Cannes Film Festival last year via a sort of internship which lead to my 3 month long travels throughout Europe. Where once you could watch it and once you could vote for it, there now is an empty crater where new and better videos will be able to be viewed. It no longer exists on the internet because I never uploaded it myself, and don't plan on it - for the moment at least. It's one of my favorite videos that I've made, though. Special thanks to chriswalters.com, because I never would've have gone at all if it wasn't for him. Thanks Chris!

I just thought about my feet.....thank you AJ.....
David Lynch was no more than five feet from me tonight, for a full half-hour. Wow. I felt like I was in the secret service. Bill Pullman was there too, and many others from Lost Highway...weird. Very weird.

So what do you make of all this Star Trek hype? Over here it's "amazing", "rare", "the reason movies were invented".
so - if you can schedule the film course in June or August, we can touch ground in Odessa in June. Istanbul is out. Either more Russia and/or Eastern Europe. Let me know your schedule asap. R2ROW is in.
