"During a period notorious for overtly brash releases, Rob has provided some welcome relief with a more homely take on the festive season...and let us remember it was the simple pleasures Kevin MacAllister was pining for" - Surrey and North Hants What's On

Rob Himself began life playing and singing in various bands, most notably grindcore trio Mfkzt. Three years ago he jacked in the screaming to focus on his love of big sing-a-longs and delicate melodies, whilst retaining his old band's slightly tongue-in-cheek, fully DIY ethos.
Since late 2005, Rob has released 3 demos and played all over the place, sharing stages and living room floors with the likes of Ghost Mice, The Xcerts, Tim Holehouse, Chris Helme, My Summer As A Salvation Soldier, Ill Ease, Bonsai Kittens, Naomi Hates Humans, Flatlands, Witchsorrow, Anya Marina, Canterbury and Above Them amongst countless others.
In October 2008, having recruited drummer and producer Adam Pollard to his two-man band, Rob released 'Armchair Historian', his debut EP proper - six tracks of catchy, witty, heartfelt folk-pop. This was followed by a 9-date UK tour and another in April 2009 in support of the EP's iTunes release.
After completing his fourth DIY tour in September, Rob hit the studio with Adam to record his debut full-length album, due for release in spring 2010.
"Rob Himself's unplugged pop-rock tonight sounds like The Wildhearts during a power cut, and it's brilliant." - Kerrang!

"Terms like lo-fi and DIY don’t have to mean shoddy sound or packaging, no no no, this is done just right....Just good songs and fine words and real simple clever honest emotion." - Organ Magazine (click to read more)
