Southern, born John Everett July 20 1983 in a small town named Apopka,FL started his musical career in 2001 as a member in a high school quintet named Represent. Since the groups separation 1yr later, Southern began striving to become a solo artist. After writing and producing his first 5 song demo in 2006, Southern would soon see that his dream was not only his own. The demo got into the hands of Andy Metellus, Producer and CEO of DP Productions headed out of Orlando, FL. Over the next 2yrs, under management of DP productions,Southern released a 3 song demo entitled "Alter Ego" in 2008. Since it's release, Southern's music has reached the ears of millions through online venues such as myspace(www.myspace.com/iamsouthern) and youtube(www.youtube.com/iamsouthern1).
Southern has worked with many local artists such as Sho Boy, Pac-Dollaz, 85, Crime Makers, Young King, Scotty P, Ike Burner and many more. Southern is now signed with Wilderness Enertainment,inc., Under Manager and CEO James C. Burke and is making his way into the industry and doing it fast! With soulful sounds and smooth melodies backed by the Production skills of DP Productions and Future Sounds Ent. Southern is indeed becoming a force to be reckoned with in R&B.
