Noise. Tape. Reverb. So runs the easy credo of 22-year old Londoner Adam Jaffrey, aka 'Twins'. It helps to have a motto of such brevity when you're as busy as he's been of late – emerging as one of London's brightest young producers (Trailer Trash Tracys, Damn Shames, Gentle Friendly), Jaffrey's turning tricks now in the remix trade; working under the alias of Twins to transform the heartfelt rush of Asobi Seksu's 'Familiar Light' into a throbbing, retro-futurist daydream. Taking cues from sonic progenitors like Giorgio Moroder, Jim O'Rourke and Kevin Shields, as well as future legends like Deerhunter, Panda Bear and Dave Sitek, Jaffrey's sound is one that, while flick-knife sharp, also finds room for sentiment in rich furrows of reverb and treble wail; stuttering like a purified Crystal Castles. With his re-working of 'Familiar Light' due for release on the B-side of Asobi Seksu's new 7", Jaffrey will return to his studios to plot future projects; which include mixing the new Gentle Friendly LP for a May release through Upset The Rhythm and as bassist with Trailer Trash Tracys. - No Pain In Pop
