i spend far too much time playing guitar (and banjo. mandolin and uke, but not as good). thankfully, i've never had any interest in learning 'covers', always prefering to try and write songs, even though i find writing lyrics a very tedious experience. i'm in a band called MOHANSKI with ALEX HIGHTON which keeps me plugged in and aware that its 2007. we're unlikely to take over the world but i'm guessing the songs will age particularly well. what is important to add is that if it wasn't for the RESCUE CAT [in my top friends, i'm sure he'd like you to have a look] positioning the microphone and dazzling me with his computer magic, these songs would of stayed within the four walls of the Hutch residence. cheers robin.
The the biggest and best rock'n'roll party for New Year's Eve 2007 is at the Dome, 1 Dartmouth Park Road, Tufnell Park, London N19 - with three great bands, and other fabulous entertainment, starting off with Lady Ane Angel and her Russian styled fire eating. Plus DJs Suave, Dirty PJ and Scratchy. Start off your new year at the BEST party in town!
Urban Voodoo Machine - With their lurching sea shanties, debauched murder ballads and whisky-soaked gypsy stomp, they’ve been compared to the likes Tom Waits and Nick Cave; others point out the last gang in town swagger of the Clash and the hellhound blues that John Lee Hooker first dragged out of the swamp.
Jim Jones Revue - Supercharged back-to-basics fifties rock’n’roll coming across like a collision between Little Richard and the MC5.
The Branded - Former guitarist with Thee Exciters and his Swedish-based raucous garage/R&B band.
Fire-Tusk Pain Proof Circus - Roll up! Roll up! Hang on to anything you can during this celebration of human folly and resilience. It's a high-octane phenomenon of real people, real risks and real skills. When the world seems grim, drab and bent on elf-destruction - it's time to send in the clowns!
Elephant Man Elvis - Ellyvis IS the Elephant Man Elvis. He is not an animal: he is the King. He is the stuff of small children's nightmares but his rendition of Elvis songs accompanied by Elephant Man slurps is pure genius.
Norma Guntz & her Tom Jones Tumour - Norma Guntz is the world's biggest Tom Jones fan with a heart-rending story of how she beat cancer the day she noticed that, in a certain light, her watermelon-sized tumour resembled the face of Tom Jones!
And more!
From 9pm till 6am upstairs in The Dome, entrance on Dartmouth Park Road, Tufnell Park N19.
The Boston Music Room will also be open, entry via the stairs from the Dome.

Hello Ian,
Thanks for your new songs, so you got the opportunity to record them, beautiful athmosphere is running through these compos of yours.
I wish understand all the words because i think it is important, you've a nice voice and a good playing, makes me feel to early Jansch for the ambience, also Eels, but it is only artists i've listened here and there, i wonder what such tunes became with arrangements, drums, keyboards, maybe it is not easy or possible,
Keep on to write,
The best,
Jean-Luc.
So Ian
You filled up your player & it was certainly worth checking out. I have had several listens but can't decide which one I like the best - could be Spectator, but when I go and play the others it does not seem that clear cut. Choice stuff.
