I've been playing in various bands for 10 years.
COLONEL MUSTARD in 1995 saw an original 3-piece line up with me on bass. Martin Ruddock (Mirrorball) was the main man in Mustard, joined by Wesley J. Jenkins on drums. Later we recieved Vince Kelly (Maine Street) into the throng. We performed what was recived as '....great British power pop....' between 1995-97, playing the first POOLE MUSIC FESTIVAL as well as the infamous MOD HATTER'S TEA PARTY.
In 2000 MAINE STREET came from a line-up calling themselves The Silvermen. Neil Collins and Vince Kelly were joined by Sean Barker and myself to complete the line up. We played all over the south including STRETHAM FESTIVAL in aid of raising awareness and funding in the prevention of domestic violence. Our debut album 'Songs from point zero' was recorded in Greenwich (hence the name) and was dedicated to our friend Simon London.
In 2003 I started recording with Martin Ruddock again. We recorded on his 8-track using samples and drum machines, guitars and an old Juno keyboard. I helped on a number of tracks that would later be used within the MIRRORBALL line-up. We were joined by 'Katfish' Keith Musslewhite and Jason Smith and an old friend Mark Greening. (Electric Wizzard, Ramesis). Lots of volume, raw guitars, fat bass and jangley keys made up a chaotic garage style delivery. We played across the south also, playing the famous HOPE AND ANCHOR in Islington.
MAINE STREET & MIRRORBALL are still in action. I'm now busily absorbed in the acoustic world of solo and colaboration performances.
My sound encompasses a range of influences from Lennon and Neil Young to Bonnie Prince Billy and Johny Cash. I have released my 1st EP 'Selector-Record-Replay' which is available at my performances. Now playing around the acoustic venues around Poole, Bournemouth and Southampton, it is my intention to record my second EP for release on ZU-BEAN RECORDS, again at my gigs and via internet. I also plan to play more venues throughout the south and possibly beyond. Inspired by the Nilsson song 'Mr. Richland's favourite song' I intend to '...Call my fan's by name...'.

I'm happy to announce that my new album "Songs From The Films Of David Lynch" is out now.
"Truly unsettling and perplexingly brilliant... testament to both the quality of Lynch’s soundtracks and Truax’s talents" - The Skinny
"Truax is paying homage to a kindred spirit with this album. It's the best kind of tribute – affectionate and respectful, but with its own quirks and imaginative leaps and its own distinct identity." -The Scotsman
