Bic Runga -Birds is breathtaking and her finest LP to date. Nerina Pallot. Rachael Yamagata - Happenstance is one of my all time favourites.
David Mead, Ray Charles, Sarah Blasko, Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson, Josh Ritter (Anything by him), Erin Mckeown (We Will Become Like Birds my favourite CD by Erin) Beth Wimmer, Brandi Carlile (superb Vocals), Kathleen Edwards, Johnny Cash, Jason Mraz, Nina Simone and Louis Armstrong - essentials to any collections. Coldplay,Rolling Stones, Girl Called Eddie, Yann Tiersen, William Hut, Tom Petty, Lisa Ekdahl, Silje Nergaard,Sarah Harmer, Nelly Furtado (Folkore) Mindy Smith, Lhasa, Madeleine Peyroux, Jack Johnson, Emiliana Torrini, Yann Tiersen, El Hula, Bruce Springsteen, Butterfly Boucher, Bob Dylan amongst others.
Movies
Avid film fan, so I go to see between 5 and 8 films a week. In my 20s I'd see perhaps 15 a week. 3 per night, but those days are gone. Favourite films would include Peter Weir's Fearless, Amelie, An American Werewolf in London, Animal House, Elephant Man, American Graffitti, Say Anything, Zulu, Nelly and Mr Arnaud, It's a Wonderful Life, Mr Smith Goes to Washington, Crash, My Dog Skip, French Connection, Unforgiven.
Television
tI haven't really watched a lot of TV for sometime, but loved shows like 'Wonder Years' 'Frasier' 'Sopranos' 'Entourage' 'Lost' 'Dream On' 'Cheers' 'Simpsons' 'Malcolm in the Middle' 'Six Feet Under' Childhood fav shows include 'Pipkins' (legendary show for 70s uk kids) The Storyteller, Chocky, Double Decker Bus thingy. Have to think about the rest.
Books
Favs include anything by William Maxwell, Richard Yates and Jack London. Like Richard Yates, Tim Mcloughlin, Mark Twain, John Fante, Cheever, Hemingway, Stephen King, James Herbert.
Favourite books include 'Life of Pi' 'Into the Wild' 'Young Heart's Crying' and 'The Minotaur takes a cigarette Break' '
I've reviewed alot of authors and have a special interest in Childrens fiction, and would recommend these reads.
Anything by Garth Nix, Darren Shan and Jack Gantos, particularly 'Joey Pigza stories.
Michael Morpurgo's Kensus Kingdom, Jamila Gavin's Blood Stone, Anthony Horowitz's Greek myths and Simon James'"Baby Brains"

Richard Yates and William Maxwell - both brilliant writers and hugely inspirations.
Walt Disney - just look at that legacy.
James Stewart - movie star.
Chris McCandless - have huge respect for although he was naive in so many ways but he lived how he lived.
Sam Cooke - Singer and disputable creator of Soul music.

Hey Ian, how are you? the last time you IMed me I was signing off to go eat dinner and I didn't notice till i lost the connection. How are you? I'm so busy with school that every time i'm online i'm doing work and don't get to chat much, so if you see me online, say hi, cuz i don't check who's on usually.
