Ian Olvera & The Sleepwalkers like to play rock & roll wherever, whenever possible. Look below for information on our (really old, really young) first record. Stay tuned for information on a new full length in Spring/Summer 2010.
"When You're Down" kicks things off with its relentless driving beat and catchy chorus as if it were almost a poppier version of Tom Petty's "Runnin' Down a Dream". The stacatto, "Getting Better"-style beat of "Derailed" follows and it's "ba-da, ba-da" chorus will have your toes tapping for hours. Olvera lets off the gas pedal a bit with "The Biggest News", a melancholy alt-country piece, but gets right back on the horse with "Treacherous Timbers", which has a song noir feel to it. All in all, it's a quality EP that's worth a spin. -STEVE @ ABSOLUTEPOWERPOP.BLOGSPOT.COM
