IAN!!! Sorry for the totally belated reply to your comment. I've been working like I'm getting paid for it or something. ;) Well, aside from the week in Malaysia I just had.
About the Former Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, it is unfortunate, however, I think he did was in the best interest of the Japanese people. He lacked the charisma and political power that Koizumi had before him. Also, the exceedingly high pressure from the Japanese government not to yield to President Bush's political pressure, and involve Japan in the war in Iraq, forced his hand.
After WWII, Japan swore they had learned their lesson and took a heavy stance of non-involvement and peaceful living. So, I can see why Abe's had a tought time throughout his year.
My heart does go out to him though. Many of the Japanese (or ignornat foreign population in Japan) enjoy lambasting him and comparing him to Koizumi, without little consideration for Abe's well-being. He's currently in a hospital. His family is very high profile, with several former Prime Ministers in it, so I can totally understand why he threw in the towel. Sometimes, it's just too much, right?
Pardon the lengthy politial musing! ;) Tell me what's going on, Man? How are Lisa and the little man doing?
Yes, the pictures come without the crazy font and colourings. ;) I love playing around with photoshop, and here in Japan they have sticker pictures ("purikura") which are a that sort of design-- very cutesy, high school girlie. ;) What am I not cute enough to be a Japanese high school girl?! ;)
She's sleeping MUCH better (about 6 hour stretches at 2 months... I can definitely live with that for now.) I took your advice and tried swaddling again, but left her arms out so she can punch away to her little heart's content. She LOVES it! Thanks for getting me to revisit something I'd otherwise about given up on.
As far as comments on Nikki's blog ... I'm just that good. :)
