These are just a few of my songs I've recently recorded which feature on my new album called No Greater Gift. Thanks to Ian Burton for Memphis, a song we co-wrote about 10 years ago now and Jugnutgut (on Youtube) for the lyrics to Sorry. thanks also to La Tressa Dawn for addingyour vocal talents on Falling and Mother Earth.
My performing name is Ian Roberts, I like songs from the heart and count as my main influences John Denver, John Lennon and Damien Rice but what I do is what I do.
If I wanted anything for the people of the world it would be for them to rise above discrimination, hate and greed and develop a level of peace and understanding only currently understood by an enlightened few. My song Masterplan is about Loving with all your might ... I truly believe that if you apply this principle you can achieve great things.
For those that are interested I play a custom Martin and have just added a Lutehole cover (see pic on Masterplan track) from lutehole.com. Thanks to Martin for making such special guitars, this guitar really has made me play with more confidence because it sounds so sweet. hope you like what you hear and thanks again for stopping by.
Influences
Damien Rice, John Denver, Elvis Costello, Crowded House, John lennon...anything with harmony and a good acoustic guitar sound really.
"When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it--always. "

Ian writes songs to stir the emotions. Many an audience have fallen silent to listen to him play and he's been likened to Don Maclean and Damien Rice.

A blonde bombshell bad-girl beats seven shades of hell out of rawhide and hickory, while her quick-draw, cocksure cowboy friend unloads his smouldering six strings straight into your gut. Four fine and feisty, untamed tracks of dusty barroom brawl and bluster, best served up neat with moonshine and good times. Fat riffs, black quiffs, southern fried style with a snarl and a smile; mariachi blues wearing dead man’s shoes, with a head full of cheap liquor and a hard rock heart.
