I'm a multi-instrumentalist from Yorkshire, England, but based in Newcastle. I play mainly Guitar but also play various button accordians, Double Bass or Harmonium, depending on the gig.
When I'm not playing gigs you'll find me at Newcastle University, teaching guitar, double bass, melodeon or ensemble skills.
Latest news
*-*On the horizon is my forthcoming Composition for the Newcastle University Chamber Orchestra, due to be performed at the end of the summer term 2009, venue TBC.
*-*I recently had the pleasure of producing Alastair Anderson's "Islands" CD, his first album release in over 10 years. It's out now and I think it sounds great!
*.*My Solo Album is coming along nicely now.. Keep checking here for previews of tracks featuring Brian Finnegan, Jim Goodwin, Andy May, Antti Jarvela and more .
I currently play with many bands and soloists, but I'm concentrating mainly on the following acts:
Baltic Crossing
-:- Having now released our debut album, we are touring our respective countries to promote it. UK performances will include Fiddles on Fire festival, Gateshead, and Celtic Connections, Glasgow.
422
-:- One of my first ever bands, and still going strong. Look out for our new 422 Big Band rocking a ceilidh near you with an 11-piece line up!
Chris Stout Quintet
-:- A brilliant fiddler from Shetland, I've been playing the occassional tour with his quintet since June this year.
Bella Hardy
-:- I've known Bella for years, and now she's making waves on the folk scene with her album "Night Visiting"
Katie Doherty
Katie is a brilliant young singer songwriter, who I've had the pleasure of playing with for the last 4 years.
The Braykes
-:- Another favourite band of mine to perform with, the braykes fuse the best of funk with the best of celtic folk. Sadly as there are so many great musicians involved, it's not very often we get to play together!
People I've had the pleasure of gigging/recording with in the past include:
Liz Carroll, Liz Doherty, Brian Finnegan, Kathryn Tickell Band, Tim van Eyken Quartet, Jerry Holland, Shona Mooney, Timo Alakotila, Helene Boksle, Chris Stout Quintet, Alastair Anderson, Malinky, Loon, The Pack, Rachel Newton, Daniel Lapp, Calum Stewart, Bill Sables, Rory Campbell, North... Sorry if I've missed anybody off!

No you're not him. Good luck with the music. It sounds good. Great place Newcastle as well. I've only been there twice though. My claim to fame there is that I know one of the Baghdaddies and I know another guy who used to know Gordon Sumner..
