Bio
From the multi-cultural city of Dakar, Ibou Tall belongs to the new generation of African musicians and producers. In Senegal, he played with musicians like Baba Maal, Ousmane Toure,Seydina Wade, and worked in jazz projects, albums and workshops with the new generation. Ibou is best known for his experience with Nder, a Senegalese singer. For 7 years he was the "mr harmonies" of Nder's band, playing the main role in the composition and the arrangement of most of his hits. During his time with the late Mamadou Konte and Africa Fete, Ibou toured in USA, Europe and Africa. Venues included the Montreal Jazz Festival, the New Morning, Zenith, and Bercy stadium in France, The Central Park Summer Stage in New York, the Sfinx Festival in Belgium, the Winthertur Festival in Switzerland, the Roskilde Festival in Denmark, the Oye Festival in Liverpool ... In 2001, he played with Michel Cusson from the legendary band, UZEB at l'air du temps in Montreal and touched the public with his style. In England he played with many musicians , worked as a composer in studios for various artists into jazz, hiphop and afro projects . One of the most important project for Ibou, was to set the melting pot jazz trio as a pianist and producer. In 2008, Ibou played on the Xamlé jazz project. Xamlé Jazz is a quartet of old friends exploring the large potential of Senegalo- Afro rythms, with a cocktail of latin, funk and bikutsi. While living in Woking, Ibou directed the production of the jazz hip hop album, "Nobody's Prefect" which was released in March 2011 by the talented actor/rapper,MC Sketchy . The first solo album is still "cooking" slowly, while playing with his latest Jazz fusion quartet: " + Jazzmates"in Bristol. -
